Used to be better

We have eaten here for the past few years, but didn't enjoy it as much this last trip. Beer was good, but the selection isn't the same as previously, which is what we came for. We enjoyed going to the Cheeky Monk many times for the selection of Belgium draft beer. Now they are mostly carrying their own label. We enjoy the variety of hearty food (favorites are fish & chips and mac-n-cheese) but occasionally wish for a few more healthy appetizer options. Due to the loss of the Belgium beer at CM, we now... Given that this is more known for its beer than its food, I probably think it should stick to the beer. I had bangers and mash which were more like bratwurst in a hard skin, mash was ok but all served luke warm I'm afraid as was my husband's mac n cheese with chicken. However, the server was friendly and... More

Excellent beer menu (that's what they are known for). Fondue is quite watery and not a real fondue. Mussels were good but the broth was very salty-which was too bad as they had good bread to soak it up with. Brussel sprouts were the hit of the table-well cooked and flavored. Beineits for dessert needed a dipping sauce; maybe chocolate,... More

We have been dropping in to the Cheeky Monk since it opened in Winter Park and, based on our last visit, things are changing. The crystal chandeliers in a ski resort restaurant were, I presume, to match the promise of Belgian beer. Well, there is still Belgian beer on the menu, but it is relegated to second or third place... More

We've been going to the Cheeky Monk both in Denver and Winter Park for a long time. Yesterday may be our last visit. First thing we noticed is they changed all the draft beers... none of our old favorites remain on tap... I think they made a deal with some unknown brewery for most of their taps. Then the menu... Enjoyed fantastic beer and baked macaroni and cheese for dinner. Was disappointed when trying to order mussels and was advised they had been sold out for two days and it wouldn't be available for another day or two. Did feel a bit rushed to get out when waitress gave the bill without asking if I would like another round. But... More

We had 9 people in our group, so we knew it would be a little crazy, but our server was great. We had 4 children who all loved their food. The mussels were spectacular, as was everything else. Don't go if you are in a hurry, but otherwise it was excellent.

Located right at the base of the mountain. Fun spot, friendly staff, and nice food selection...beats the ski lodge scene.

Great beer at a great price during happy hour. There was a touch too much foam though. The bacon and gorgonzola mussels are amazing! Luckily that was my entree since everything else was very bland and not good. It is kid friendly and they have quite a few options for little ones that were sadly better than most of the... More
