Great Food - don't care for their "no tipping" policy

We were very pleased to be able to get a meal at this restaurant as it was obviously near the end of their day. Food was excellent, but our waitress was pretty scatter-brained. The restaurant has a "no tip" policy, but adds 20% to your bill automatically. I don't think this does much to incent... read more

The food was average, not great Italian. Gluten free pasta and bread is a nice option. I will not eat here again mainly due to it's new, socialistic "anti tip policy". This translates into everyone who dines here must pay a mandatory 20% "service charge" which is added to your bill regardless of service. This is not posted in the... More

Hi Mike, I am sorry you did not enjoy your experience. I am glad however that you enjoyed the gluten free options. So that you have a better understanding of how restaurants function: the government mandated tipped employee minimum wage is behind the no tip trend because money that needs to go to the kitchen is being forced into the... Had brunch and dinner here. Friendly locally owned, no tipping - included in the prices. Hands down the best gluten free Italian food, and my friend and family who are not gluten intolerant also rave about the food. I can honestly say I have never had less than a great meal here.

We went there for diner and we were very pleased with this restaurant. Nice atmosphere with personal and attentive service. There was a lots of dishes to choose from including pastas, pizzas, more traditional American dishes as well. We tried Italian egg rolls for appetizer- great choice, also there bread before meal with home made garlic paste with olive oil... More

Gluten free is hard enough, but GF pasta/ good GF pasta is almost impossible, but not here. Great service, great food, great people. I do like the non tipping policy too.

We found Abruscis after I found out I had to change to a gluten free diet. Finding good Italian GF is hard! Not only does this place have awesome GF food but their regular menu is amazing as well. It's my families favorite place to meet up and I'm the only GF in the group. They are very friendly and... More

At first I was hesitant about trying a restaurant in a strip mall, but I'm so glad that we did. When you first walk in, you feel like you just walked in to an old neighborhood restaurant where people have been coming forever to be with friend and family. We had our kids with us and I didn't feel stressed... More

Had not been to Abrusci's for awhile, and received a gift card so opted to try it out again. The food was very good but I have to agree with the previous reviewers. Our server was very nice, but the service was not consistent, long waits, they seemed understaffed. I would not have tipped 20% for the service I received.... More

This overpriced, mediocre Italian restaurant instituted a "no tipping" policy last July that is, in fact, a NO-CHOICE-IN-TIPPING policy. They will indeed add 20% to your bill as a service charge.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent visit to our family restaurant. We realize it's a big change to go non-tipping and we're doing our best to explain it. Our website has a Customer Information Packet on it that many have reviewed to understand better why restaurants are making this change in this country, slowly but surely. The 20% service... More

Food was decent, and on the pricey side, as usual, BUT this is now a forced 20% tip restaurant and I would NOT have given our server anywhere near 20% for the lazy, inattentive service we received. I'm not opposed to leaving 25% for good service, so it's not that I'm cheap. The restaurant was not busy, but our waiter... More
