Very quaint old hotel restaurant

On our trip to Denver, we stopped in Walsenburg for a quick lunch. We had no idea where we were going, but turned down an interesting street lined with older buildings. The hotel has been converted to a B&B and the restaurant survived to feed the guests. There are lots of artifacts from the... read more

My husband and I were there this week and the dinner salad was the best I've had with blue cheese and blue cheese crumbles! I had the trout and my husband had chicken fried steak which a lady had suggested to us. Vegetables were delicious. Another couple had coconut cream pie which we would have loved but will just have... More

La Plaza is a Bed and Breakfast Historical building. There is the restaurant on the first floor. I love to have lunch here when I am in Walsenburg. The hamburgers are delicious!!! Very tasty.

We were met at the door and congratulated. All the help came and congratulated us. There were flowers on the table and the steak was wonderful! Great place in a small town to celebrate. We love there lunches too!

The La Plaza Inn is a B&B that also serves others. The Beer was $3 and the steak dinner was $17. Very good. Lots on the menu to please everyone. We only had dinner. Walsenburg is a dump with not many choices but this place would stand out anywhere.

In Walsenburg for a funeral my sister and I had dinner here. The wait staff was really nice and checked often on drinks etc. For the price I expected better than average food and didn't get that. Pie and cobbler dessert I took home to find out later they both had too much cinnamon not our taste . The Inn... More

We stayed at hotel connected to the restaurant, so we enjoyed both dinner when we arrived and breakfast the following morning. After being on-the-road all day, we didn't want a heavy meal so we decided to split a chef salad and chicken parmesan. The server happily split the meals, so we didn't need to do it ourselves. The food was... More

And we are glad we made that choice. The food was outstanding, everything fresh and distinctive. We split the smoked turkey Cobb salad. Dressings on the side; they were home-made. Also split the chicken parmesan. Outstanding food in a relatively rural location. We also had the complementary breakfast the following morning - it was excellent.

Very AVERAGE in food quality, preparation, presentation, and service. Dining room is quaint, comfortable, and appealing. Wine list is primarily supermarket wines--quite disappointing for a restaurant that claims to be Walsenburg's "fine dining experience". The featured Colorado wine was quite good--a very pleasant surprise. Elk Sausage & Cheese appetizer had three supermarket cheeses of Cracker Barrel quality with a few... More

We were a group of 26 and had booked some months ahead. Yet they didn't seem to be able to handle us. We all sat at separate tables of about 6 in a room at the rear of the restaurant (that was fine, but what was with the high tables and chairs surrounded by wafty wedding material? and with NO...
