NOT "Fine Dining" as Advertised Except in Price

Very AVERAGE in food quality, preparation, presentation, and service. Dining room is quaint, comfortable, and appealing. We were a group of 26 and had booked some months ahead. Yet they didn't seem to be able to handle us. We all sat at separate tables of about 6 in a room at the rear of the restaurant (that was fine, but what was with the high tables and chairs surrounded by wafty wedding material? and with NO... I go here at least monthly. Food is really good. Great wine list. I have been here for date night, out with friends, and company parties. The service is good and the ambiance is relaxing and homelike. I will return for date night, out with friends and company parties.

We stopped here for lunch after reading the reviews on trip advisor. This place is great, the service was excellent and the hamburgers were better than most. Everyone in the place said hi, like we were family. The decor is from an earlier time, great experience!

See my review of La Plaza Bed and Breakfast. Awesome prime rib dinner well worth the price. Friendly staff that knows a lot about the 100 year old hotel and how to make strangers from out of town feel comfortable and at ease. We flew into Walsenburg in our private singe engine airplane, asked where good food was and wound... More

Great service and wonderful homemade food! Dining room has many books to read and charming turn of the century decor.

We drive to Boulder several times during the year and have been looking for a restaurant where we can just stop, rest and refresh. This is it! Our salad was fresh, chicken fried steak was very good and we had a carafe of tea on our table. Server was great and you can choose the venue you want to sit... More

We enjoyed our meals. Both of us cleaned our plates. The staff was very friendly, even let us in at closing time and did not make us feel rushed. We would eat their again. The setting is in an old hotel which we might try next time.

Had dinner here while in town laying our grandma to rest. There were 9 of us all with varying tastes and needs. The waitresses were great. The food was good, the wine and dessert were good as well. Great find in Walsenburg.

Ambiance: Outside really ugly for a historic hotel. A flat nothing. Plastic flowers in the window. Dining room has been update -- a failure, they should have left it alone. Service: Our waitress just disappeared when it was time for us to pay. The other waitress and the owner went by us repeatedly ignoring the situation.. When our waitress finally... More
