A return visit and not dissapointed

We ate here twice last year and returned yesterday and weren't disappointed. Their steaks are legendary and the flavour fantastic, superbly cooked and very tender. The onion soup was very good as was the crème brulee. Wine is reasonably priced (for Vail) and our server was attentive, smiled and... read more

Our first and belated visit to this Vail mainstay and we will return. The roast beef is as advertized with our expectations raised by their own proclamations and guest reviews. Served with large baked potato and traditional garnishes. We also had the Veal Ambrosia which was also very good. Service was very good. Sat by the window so had a... More

We stopped in just for a drink and appetizer and we had no idea the treat we were in for: the BEST French martini (flirtini) I've ever had and simply the MOST spectacular mussels in such a savory sauce I ate it with a spoon to enjoy every last morsel. The couple next to us were there three nights in... More

I like Lancelot. We have been there several times and have enjoyed the steak and especially the prime rib. We started this evening in the bar for a lovely happy hour glass of wine and an hors d'oeuvre then to the main dining room for prime rib. My wife in the last year has become a pescatarian and she ordered... More

This is a restaurant that offers both excellent food and a cool ambiance. The wine list is interesting - something for everyone. Everything on the menu is good and they may have the best Viener schnitzel in Vail. It is best to make a reservation in advance.

The Happy Hour sign on the window attracted us to walk down a few stairs to a warm restaurant environment. However the Happy Hour only applied to a small selection of drinks that were not appealing. We opted for an Oregano Pinot Noir and a Pinot Grigio. Both wines were not good - high is RS, too sweet. Not a... More

Headed here for happy hr as it started at 3:30. Had some wonderful drink specials and appetizers. Ended up staying for dinner as well. I had a beet salad for an appetizer that was awesome! Then Colorado lamb steaks for dinner that were very tender and tasty. The steak medallions were on a very large bed of green beans and... More

The food was fine; it was at the end of our meal when we overheard a different wait person than ours tell another table about the wine special. We'd not been offered that option by our waitress Gigi; in fact our two glasses of wine were more than the bottle of wine as the nightly special, but we didn't know.... More

The food and service was as good as the great architecture of the building. We all had the prime rib and it was excellent. Highly recommend.

For Apres drinks, this is a pretty good place. Their alcohol grade is a little higher then average and they bring the prices down quite a bit for after skiing. I'm a fan of thier $6 hot toddy or hot apple pie. You won't get a lot of food for apres, but it tasty to much on to pass the... More
