Great meal on Superbowl night

We were a bit worried we wouldn't fnd anyway to eat in Vail on the night of Superbowl, so we booked in advance. We needn't have worried. The restaurant was quiet with a few people in the bar downstairs watching the game. Lovely ambience and décor, comfortable and a good range of choice on the... read more

We wanted to come to Vail for dinner to enjoy the village ambience and decided to skip our usual eateries and try a new place and we are so glad we did. I'm not usually a fan of sturdy German food but Alpenrose does it so well and we enjoyed every bite. Most entrees are served with spaetzle and a... More

Stopped by here with my wife and son after a day of skiing and snow shoeing. We ordered the small fondue, which would have been okay alone as an appetizer but was not quite enough for a meal without adding the generous plate of veggies to go along with the bread. It was a nice gruyere and white wine, pretty... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Alpenrose on Christmas Eve. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel and my husband ordered the Jaeger Schnitzel and we shared. Light, crispy and delicious. We had tasty German beer and got a dessert from their bakery for later on. Friendly staff, good portions and a fair price in an expensive town. This will be... More

This is a great place for dinner and lunch. The food is delicious; authentic German dishes. The service is excellent and fast. We make a point of eating here every time we visit Vail.

The owner truly cares about the quality of food and service at the restaurant. This was my family's first time at Alpenrose, and the owner made us feel right at home. I recommend you visit, order the fondue and leave room for desserts, which were out of this world.

I have been living and skiing in Vail for 15 years and am shocked that I have only recently discovered the Alpenrose for apres ski. The Gluhwein is great as well as the beers. The fondue and German salad are a perfect recharge after a day on the slopes. The atmosphere is warm and the staff friendly. I think I... More

My husband is Belgian and I am German and so we were absolutely delighted to find the Alpenrose with its German/Austrian food and its Belgian patisserie chef who made a wonderful Buche de Noel (a belgian xmas tradition)! Lovely service (very charming owner), decent prices for Vail and a relaxed ambiance - we felt right at home at the Alpenrose!

5 of us had dinner at Alpenrose recently. Try the duck! Excellent! Great selection of drinks too! Location is great, food is terrific, service outstanding. Almost forgot to list the home baked goodies from their bakery. Stop in. You will enjoy.

This is a great indoor & outdoor place for lunch. They offer amazing soup which hit the spot after a cold morning snowshoe.
