German food priced right!

Staying in Vail Village, we found a quaint restaurant with menu items that were appealing. We sat on the patio overlooking the village since the weather was mild. Our server, Dragon, was very personable and engaging in conversation. I had a chicken schnitzel with spatzal and fresh veggies and my... read more

Server John-Morgan - what a great find for this place. We went there in the last afternoon for drinks. He suggested a local brew that turned out to be my favorite of the trip. Upon talking to him, we discussed our possible dinner plans, looking for some great fondue. He said that theirs was the best, tastier than all the... More

Staying in Vail Village, we found a quaint restaurant with menu items that were appealing. We sat on the patio overlooking the village since the weather was mild. Our server, Dragon, was very personable and engaging in conversation. I had a chicken schnitzel with spatzal and fresh veggies and my husband had the Wiener schnitzel. We saved room for homemade... Had a nice lunch on the patio with views of vail mountain. Enjoyed the Austrian fare. Great location in the centre of town. Seating is limited but we visited in off season so there was no trouble getting a table.

We always make a point of eating at this restaurant when we travel to Vail. The food never disappoints. We had pork schnitzel sandwiches and thge meat was tender and not greasy. The sandwiches were served with a trio of German salads that were light and tasty. We each had a Belgian beer well-suited to our meal.

We went here b/c of TA recommendations and we were not let down. The fondue was yummy, the Kasepfanne was tasty and the beer and desserts topped it all off. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is b/c of the prices- a bit inflated- but we are in Vail....

Friendly waiters and a great braut + beer meal for $9. The service was fast, place felt comfortable, and the food was amazing. Come here during the off season.

We came in for dessert-- we walked in a the waiter was laying down in the booth eating with his girlfriend or who ever-- we ordered two desserts-- they were ok.. perhaps a little stale-- we ordered some drinks too-- they pretty much acted like we were just a bother and we couldn't eat fast enough to get out of... What a great little alpine restaurant! We had lunch here several times throughout the week. The Kaëspätzle, while probably not your healthiest lunch option, was AMAZING! Bartender Jeff was personable and very helpful with regards to the local area/attractions. Very nice outdoor seating area, good for people watching in Vail Village!

Alpenrose is absolutely wonderful. The patio is great and food is excellent. We go there twice a month and are never disappointed. Waiters are top notch.

Nice and intimate setting, good German/Austrian food and attentive service. The lunch (served until 4 p.m.) has much better prices than dinner; and enough to offer; worth it -- for Vail standards. They also have some non-German dishes like a good appetizer fondue, escargots, and tiramisu.
