Alpenrose is a long-time institution in Vail, one of the first restaurants to buy into Peter Seibert and Bob Parker's vision of an American ski circus with destination amenities. The menu and ambiance are tightly focused on Alpen cuisine, with Austrian specialties dominating the sensibly-scaled menu. Our entrees (chicken and veal) were precisely and properly seasoned, with perfectly prepared sides,... More

Our party all had excellent entrees. Party one had the Kasepfanne, beef tips under melted Appenzeller cheese. A large portion enough for two to split, great value and indicated it was her favorite entree at Alpenrose. Party two and three had the Jageschnitzel, veal medallions with a forest mushroom brandy cream sauce, the veal was very tender and melted in... More

Me and some friends just returned from a ski vacation in Vail. Our first night in town we had dinner at Alpenrose and it was fantastic. The restaurant is an authentic european restaurant & bakery. We each had different entrees and everyone was please with their selection. I had a craving for pasta so I chose the pasta and bolognese... More

The best German food I've had in a long time. My husband and I had our dog with us on our visit and the staff was very accomodating. We sat on the patio and our waiter turned on a heater for us and brought our pup a dish of water. Excellent service!

Indoors as well as outdoor the Alpenrose has comfortable table settings and attentive service. Menu choices include authentic Austrian and Bavarian dishes with fresh and ethnic ingredients. Entertainment is fun and joyous with song and Tyrolean instrumentation for all to participate or just relax and listen.

My wife & I spent a day shopping in Vail before skiing and stopped in to Alpenrose for a lite lunch. We both had several wines by the glass - I ordered the cheese platter (huge) and my wife ordered the cheese fondue - both were delicious. The service was spot on as well. Fantastic European lunch in the heart... More

Enjoyed a delicious lunch here last week. The menu had so many delicious items I had trouble deciding whether to order healthy or order classic Austrian fare. I decided to order healthy but non-the-less the food was sensational. Dessert, which we ordered from take-out belongs in a class by itself...pricy but worth every penny! If you find yourself in Vail,... More

In fact, stop in and choose a house-made dessert or pastry, even if you aren't in the market for a full meal or drink! We stopped in for lunch on a whim while walking around Vail Village. Had no idea what it would be like, but were delighted with friendly servers, a pleasant, open atmosphere, and well-prepared German-style luncheon fare.... More
