We spent some time in Germany a few years back and are always looking for decent German food. Alpenrose was a good lunch with decent service. The cheese plate was great and my husband raved about the sausage plate. My main complaint was the servers. We were seated in the front area with our toddler and could hear the servers... More

We love the patio here - great for people watching and sipping German beer. Our favorite menu item is the wiener schnitzel. Huge portion - enough to share along with a salad. We have always had great service. Tip - some of the same menu items are a lot more affordable during lunch.

Stopped in for a late lunch while in Vail. Nice German beer on tap. One of the best Reubens on the planet. Their German salads were tasty twists on what I consider traditional (my Grandmother was German). Prices were reasonable for Vail. We would definitely return.

Never fails our go to place to take friends when in Vail. Authentic German Beers and menu. Wonderful out door deck to watch the strolling Vail peeps. Comfortable inside seating. Efficient kitchen that quickly turns your order.

We only had salads and appetizers. The waiter sort of forgot about us but the manager came out to help us. Friendly wait staff.

Was highly recommended by many and we had great food at their booth at the vail farmers market. While my lunch was very good, the service was below average and the tables cramped. It was raining so we could not eat outside and that may have improved things. Might consider going back to give this vail classic another try.

I was really pleased with the soup but the Beef Tartar was just OK. The service was very good and the other guests were complimentary of their choices.

We came for dinner on a Sunday evening not wanting a large meal. I ordered the small bowl of goulash listed under the soups on the menu. It was delicious and filled with chunks of beef and vegetable in a flavorful broth. My husband had the split pea soup that was also good. Our waiter Dragon was friendly and helpful.... More

We always hit the Alpenrose for some authentic German food. My wife is Swiss and vouches for the good food.

Alpenrose has been one of my favorite places in Vail for many years so I was really looking forward to having lunch here during my most recent visit to Vail Village. What has happened? First of all, it appears (at least that day) to be in the hands of a bunch of teens. There was no sign of "maturity" visible... More
