We came here after a full day of travel to Vail. We were tired and starving and looking for something "different". We sat at the bar and the bartender Sarah took great care of us. She highly recommended the duck and although I was hesitant because I have not liked duck when I have had it previously we ordered it... More

Hate to say it....come here for a drink, tall cold draft beers and pastries as their apple strudel, eclair, cookies were some of the best anywhere. But the food very average but with excellent friendly service. This is also #1 local watering hole according to my very local host.

From the Farmers Plate appetizer to the Bratwurst plate this was the best I've had. We had come in for a drink the day before. Morgan was a terrific ambassador to Vail. He introduced us to Jäger Tea. Great drink (don't think about Jagermeister). He told us about the town and just set us up for our visit. We came... More

Looking forward to some real German Food but too Americanized for our taste. Soft American style rolls, bland cucumber salad, tasteless potato salad, overcooked Bratwurst. My wife had the fondue appetizer which was ok but baguette bread stale. Cost almost $75 w/ tip for lunch with one .5L beer. Nicely authentically furnished but oldies rock n roll on the stereo.... We've eaten here many times over the years and always look to come back for a "German fix". Love a good draft, wurst and wiener with sauerkraut and the trimmings just can't be beat. Simple but good food and service. Add a schnapps and pastry and you're good to go. Out on the front deck is good - I enjoyed... More

We eat a Alpenrose multiple times a year in both the winter and summer. For lunch I highly recommend the Monte Cristo with extra lingonberry sauce. For dinner I like the schnitzel but the way they prepare it at lunch (breaded and fried) with a jaeger sauce. The deserts are however really good when they have the cherry strudel. A... More

Nice place to sit outdoors on a sunny January day. Service was average. Ordered the Cobb salad. Thought I must have mistakenly ordered a side salad when it arrived as the size and minimal toppings of chicken, corn, tomato and avocado was surprising. Filled me up nonetheless. Average wine-by-the-glass selection.

Average food in general but the Weiner Schnitzel were good. Our waiter, Dragon, was very personable and made the dining experience more fun.
