Great food at a reasonable price in Vail!

This is a Swiss / German restaurant that serves excellent food typical of the Germanic region of Europe. My wife and I had lunch here and were delighted with the bratwurst, reuben sandwich and the rest of the menu looked as inviting. The service was brisk and attentive and the setting is... read more

This is one of my favorite stops. It has traditional European cuisine such as steak tartar with an egg and pickles as well as favorites such as schnitzel. They offer traditional sizes of beer as well, with my favorite being the litre of pilsner. In addition to the great meal choices, they offer an excellent dessert case. I suggest the... More

They have the most charming little patio with gorgeous flowers looking right over Vail Rd. I wasn't extremely hungry but love charcuterie plates with a glass of wine so I ordered the Farmer's Market which was just that. It was perfect. My husband got the Wienerschnitzel and thought it was one of his best meals in Vail. They had a... More

One of our favorite places for a fun lunch. Outdoor seating with a view of Vail ski runs.. This eatery has fabulous soups and wonderful sandwiches plus full course meals as well !!! Nice service and be sure to save room for a treat for dessert!!

Alpenrose is a nice restaurant and the food is good. The duck was very crisp and the vegetables were good. The best part was dessert, Black Forest Cake, extremely good!

Though I believe that they are a Swiss Restaurant their traditional German dishes are unrivaled anywhere else in the Vail area. We even had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, whom is an absolute delight, only to be rivaled by the high quality of both her food and service. We went multiple times over the summer and each was... More

Celebrated 50th bday with family including a pair of 5 year olds. Service was a little slow but the food was excellent and in very large quantity. Had the table in front window which keeps kids out of view/earshot of others (plus for all). Nice restaurant - not quite as kid friendly as suggested but very acceptable.

Had a late lunch this week at the Alpenrose Restaurant while in Vail on vacation. The Bratwurst plate was great. It was served with sauerkraut, cucumbers and a salad. Ate outside even though there were rain showers coming off and on. The service was excellent. Did not have time to sample any of the pastries but they looked appealing. Will... More

Stopped in for dinner while in Vail. Two authentic Germans in our party. They were impressed with the atmosphere and the cooking. Enjoyed the Käse Spätzle and the Paulaner Weißbier. Would definitely return

Went to this restaurant three years ago and it was AMAZING What happened!?!?!?! Food was greasy and sauerkraut was mush. I was so embarrassed I took my friends here and raved about it. My favorite german restaurant is GONE. Really bummed. Definitely not a $50/person meal.
