If popularity correlated to excellence, this place would compete with El Bulli. However, it compensated for excellence with quirkiness, average food, and distant service (perhaps this what they meant by "French"). Since it was Restaurant Week, this was a popular place. Seemingly excellent value and a nice menu selection. However, everything tasted rather "manufactured". I've had Kashi frozen dinners with... More

We were crossing the Rockies in the wake of a winter storm. Vail seemed like a good place to take a lunch break, and we're very glad we did. "Ky" was our server, and he took very good care of two weary people. His recommendations for soup (French Onion with perfect broth) and Lunches were spot on. Even made sure... More

We went to La Tour during the "off" season. They had great prices on lunches and dinners. We ate lunch their twice in one week. The food is great! The service is good and the restaurant is very nice. They have very interesting and different items to try. The portions are generous.

I am not a big fan of French food; but La Tour may have changed my mind. The restaurant decor is a combination of elegance and comfort (not stuffy). The food is cooked to perfection. We started with the Escargot and Hibachi oysters. For dinner I had the seafood combination served over pasta cooked in squid ink (My mouth is... More

Although it was a little warm inside, the food was phenomenal. We ordered a bottle of wine- which was 50% off during the off season- a cheese plate, lobster bisque, trout, and the chicken. No complaints about the food at all except I wish there was more! The service was just as good as the food. My wine was constantly... More

We came back to this place this year, too, and again the dinner was fabulous. The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 is because the place is a bit too noisey. Fall special was going on and entrees were priced at $20.14. I ordered salmon, and my partner ordered chicken. Both places were awesome. Salmon was said to be... More

My wife and I had a great experience and exceptional dinner at La Tour. All staff were exceptional; Lauren and Paul - our waitress and sommelier, respectively deserve an extra shout out. Both were very helpful and provided a fun relaxed atmosphere during an amazing dinner. The music could have been more instrumental and dining appropriate, as there was 90's... More

I am not in the habit of solo dining, but I did want to be somewhat self-indulgent whilst hubby golfed on a beautiful fall day. What better place than La Tour? Our experience with La Tour had been only for dinner, and not since the early 1990s. I felt very, very comfortable dining alone, people watching and book reading between... More

We have eaten at La Tour for dinner, several times, but this was our first lunch there. In short, it was very good. It wasn't "amazing" like our dinners have been, but was a pleasant lunch at a reduced "off season" rate, nonetheless. My wife had the Lobster Roll and she enjoyed it; nothing spectacular, was good. I had the... More

Wonderful dinner for eight here on a recent weeknight. The service was timely and helpful. The sommelier extremely helpful and value conscious and the food, well, most excellent. I am not sure the value proposition would hold during an "in season" experience, but in the quiet of an October weeknight, La Tour delivered.
