It is my understanding that fresh daily delivery of the fish is the reason for the steep prices Montauk charges for its food. Unfortunately, fresh doesn't overcome the pedestrian preparation. I had a swordfish with their miso preparation and it was completely unremarkable. There is nothing special about the ambiance here, either. Service was good, but in the world of... More

We visited Vail for the forth time, everytime we visit Montauk its a must go for their King Crab and the best Hawaiian Ahi in town! Cheff Dimitri cooks it to perfection everytime, we love it, excelent service. Nate described it all perfectly. We had some Malpeque oysters he recomended, delicious. Ask for Michael. He was extremely knowledgeable and a previous sous chef of 6 years in the Montauk. Our family of 5 has diverse tastes, including one non-seafood eater. There was something for everyone here! Hubby and I started with Oyster Shooters and an array of oysters - he had the tuna, rare and I had the pasta with mixed... More

We visited Montauk for a couples dinner with some friends while skiing after not having been there for a while we started staying in Vail Village rather than Lionshead and never seemed to make the decision to travel there for dinner. But with the free Vail bus service and curiosity about how this old favorite has fared we made the... More

Our waiter was barely adequate-cold and not friendly at all. Had to ask for several things that should have been basic for any waitperson. For the price the service should be above average it was not.

While we were in Vail to ski with our son and daughter, they opted to drive back to Denver to be with my son's girlfriend and a bunch their friends for New Year's leaving my wife and I to have New Year's together. It's not easy getting a res on New Year's in Vail Village but the Montauk Seafood Grill... More

We always visit Montauk when in Vail. Since we live on the east coast, we eat seafood very often. On this trip to Montauk we ordered the scallops and shrimp linguini with lobster broth for entrees after enjoying salads. The scallops were reportedly good but my shrimp were gritty! Shrimp, unlike scallops, is rarely gritty so i was surprised. My... More

Everything was amazing! The hostess had a great personality, big smile, and was very welcoming. The service was prompt and exceptionally great! We started off with the lobster mac n cheese and that was super delicious. Next, I had the Sea Bass which was one of the best I've ever had! I look forward to my next visit there!

Blackened swordfish, lobster bisque, fresh bread and Alaskan king crab to die for. Nathan was the perfect waiter for an exceptional dining experience with my son. We will be back!!
