I was really looking forward to breakfast at The Little Diner based upon the reviews. We were staying at a Lionshead condo for Fathers Day weekend. We stopped at Starbucks to get some coffee and were drinking it as we explored the Lionshead shops. We walked by The Little Diner and just looked in the door to see if we... more
This is a hidden little gem. Looks like nothing fancy on the outside and it isn't. Everyone is seated counter-style around the kitchen. Staff is very friendly. But most importantly, our breakfast was fantastic -- some of the best pancakes you can find. From what we could see, everyone else had great food and was enjoying their meal. Plus it's... more
We wouldn't miss The Little Diner. Just as the name states, it is a small diner that probably seats approximately 15 - 20 customers. Part of the enjoyment is watching your food prepared as you watch. Generous portions. Highly recommend the crepes and fritatas. Only open for breakfast and lunch. If you come off the mountain early, stop in for... more
My wife and I skied and stayed at Vail or specifically, Lionshead. It was great and beautiful as you would expect. We also expected to pay a little more for breakfast at the hotel. After our $60 breakfast buffet for 2 the first morning, we decided to look elsewhere. We were directed to the Little Diner, which was perfect. Experienced... more
This was by FAR the best sausage gravy with biscuits I've ever had. The eggs could not have been cooked better. I've traveled a lot and had this dish "down south." The Little Diner did it better than any other place I've had it. The service was great. I was in and out in a half hour and read the... more
Not so great food! And not so great service! Over-greasy eggs and hash browns, gristly sausage, tasteless bacon, even the biscuits were sub-par! The waitress seems to think it's her job to ignore customers. There are no tables (bar seating only) and no outside seating. Not the kind of experience we look for in Vail. We give them 2 stars... more
The Little Diner has some great food, but the staff is very rude. While on our stay in Vail, we had breakfast at The Little Diner. Something we were looking forward to since the night before we got there. We love little hole in the wall places and were looking forward to a great meal. When we arrived the staff... more
Finally, after several seasons of lackluster and overpriced selections, breakfast has come back to Vail Village (Lionshead). The new locally owned operated "Little Diner" is now in the old "DJ McAdams" storefront in West Lionshead. While the building's management (West Lionshead Plaza) has it's problems, I can't fault the Little Diner. This establishment will definitely be here for a long... more
I was in Vail April28- May 6. I ate in The Little Diner 3 times. I thought it was a real discovery. Everything is cooked fresh--not frozen food. I had a wonderful omelet, light and tasty. I tried the burrito and found it too much food to finish. My real favorite ---the Eggs Benedict. They were fabulous!! Probably the best... more
