keeping in mind that Dec 26 through Dec 31 is typically one of the busiest weeks of the season and everyone is clambering for dinner reservations. Visited with two friends while skiing in Vail. Their steaks were excellent, cooked as requested. Trout was excellent. The waiter was forthcoming on the source of the fishes. Service was very good. Salads were excellent. Expensive, but worth it.

I have been visiting Vail for years and first started frequenting Russell's with my family after several recommendations from the locals. Russells is right in Vail Village next to the covered bridge. The atmosphere is pleasant and the bar is generally lively. The food is well priced for Vail and consistently good. They specialize in King Crab legs and Buffalo... More

Had the frnech onion soup to start and other than the usual american approach of putting too much cheese on it, it was one of the better ones I've had. then had the steak diane. It was presented well and all was cooked perfectly, but the plate had obviously stood for a little while as things were not as hot... More

This is an average steak house with snotty waiters. Mash potatoes taste like they are out of a box and the cuts of meat are fatty and very average. Not many plates under $30... Save your money and go somewhere else...

I've been to this restaurant multiple times, and sometimes I wonder why I keep going back. 3 years ago, my fiancee and I went for my birthday. He had the Steak Diane, and I had a filet. His steak was P H E N O M E N A L. However, my meal lacked any luster. Good, but no worth... More

We asked locals for the best steak dinner for a week before dining there. Overwhelming response was Russell's and they didn't disappoint. Ambiance included open seating adjacent to a small stream bubbling uder a covered bridge anda sunset behind a mountain range. Service was pleasant and not hurried while the steaks were perfect. Thick, juicy, and prepared exactly as ordered.... More

We ate at Russell's because it was the off-season, and they were offering some great deals. Well, apparently the "deals" are what they use to unload their less than high quality cuts of beef. I had the ribeye and my husband had their prime rib. When I ordered the ribeye special, the waitress even told me that it was a... More
