We were a bit concerned with getting a table, due to this restaurant's reputation, but we were able to walk right in. We were seated in the open area near the front, and I would recommend that. My husband and I were each pleased with our dining selections. His single favorite was a nice Cabernet, while mine was the decadent... More

Sweet Basil is the kind of place that every local will recommend when you are asking about the "best meal in Vail". We stopped there for a nice lunch and ate on the back balcony overlooking Gore Creek. My husband ordered the Ahi Tuna Tartine and I had the Trout. Both entres were very fresh, service was first rate and... More

Rated one of the best in vail and I would agree. Excellent food and service at a reasonable price. The ambience was very nice as well. The menu was very creative. This will be one of my first stops on my next trip to vail.

Expectations were high, but restaurant unable to deliver taste. Everything was over cooked and dry. Vegetables were stringy and over salted.

Despite this restaurant being half-full on a Sunday evening, we were paraded by some great empty booths and were seated in the way back, away from the windows (which overlook the creek) and near a large group (with two loud young children). Although the entire wait staff was very attentive and friendly, we found the place to be very loud... More

We arrived on a Saturday night without a reservation but were seated quickly and graciously. We started our meal with two tasty appetizers, a delightful crab cake salad and a scrumptious fois gras. Both very well prepared, seasoned and presented. My dining partner orderd a Berkshire pork chop - wonderful. I ordered a rib eye steak - also wonderful. Although... More

Wonderful all around dining experience. Wait staff and sommelier were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We looked to them for suggestions and loved everything we ate and drank. The pork chops were better than any steak I've ever had. Comfortable atmosphere with indoor or outdoor dining. Nice wine and cocktail selection. As a couple we had two drinks each, two appetizers... The wine list was amazing and the wine service very attentive. The waiter couldn't remember the special and wasn't able to recover. The food was a tired rendition of other great eateries but not done well. In the end we left with a sense that the chef was working old notions off key and out of time much like the... More

Sweet Basil has been a "must" for me on every visit to Vail - for many years. I'm never disappointed with any aspect of my experience there. That includes the variety offered on the menu and the level of service provided by all of the Staff. It always appears that the employees enjoy working there. This visit was no exception.l... More

Sat at the bar for a late afternoon snack and had one of the best "BLT" ever! The garlic aoli is good enough to put on anything. The bar is one of friendliest and inviting bars around.
