The food was well prepared and delicious. However, the staff was off kilter. Mountain opens tomorrow so staff not up to par. Service was slow, staff was below average. Not at all what we have come to expect from one of the better restaurants in Vail.

I agree with all the stellar reviews of Sweet Basil. We never miss a meal there when in Vail Village; BUT we have been going there for years to have the Shrimp and Calamari Appetizer. This fall when we arrived, the dish had been completely changed with different vegetables and a different sauce. It does not taste the same. I... More

We were surprised at how busy this place was at lunch in the off season....until we sat down and started expereincing the very fine service, friendly atmosphere, and excellent food. Had a very fine tuna tartare as an appetizer (only criticism is that it was a bit small) and my daughter said her caesar was the best she's ever had.... More

Whenever in Vail, Sweet Basil is a must! Without a doubt, the finest restaurant in the village. We've been eating there since it opened and have yet to have a bad meal. The food, service, decor and presentation are perfect each and every time!

Favored by locals as the best restaurant in Vail Village, Sweet Basil is a real treat. They are pricier than the competition, but their food is simply better. Expect attention to detail. They also do a great lunch, if you want to try the food without committing to the price tag for the dinner menu. The staff is caring, knowledgeable... More

Offers excellent food. There are restaurants in Vail that offer better value for your meal, but you are unlikely to be disappointed by Sweet Basil.

Ate at Sweet Basil for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday and we were both very impressed by the cozy atmosphere, attentive service and excellent quality food. I had the Autumn butter lettuce salad as an appetizer and the trout for my main meal, and both were perfectly prepared. Our server explained the menu items beautifully and recommended great wine... Was driving from Denver to Grand Junction and needed a lunch break. Why not Vail? Vail is an easy stop in October and Sweet Basil would be my pick in any month. Staff were warm and welcoming. Atmosphere was great and food was terrific! The potato and leek soup was a great warm up for the pork loin blt which... More
