Better than expecting

We finally got into this restaurant after multiple times of trying. It was better than I expected. I loved the atmosphere. It was upstairs overlooking Gore Creek. Even though we were not able to sit on the patio the doors were all open and you still had the feeling of being outside. Our... read more

Happening place to be in Vail for dinner. The appetizers were the highlight of our meal - especially the heirloom tomato salad which was absolutely delicious! I would go again for the happening scene & that salad.

Our dining experience started off wrong when our waiter took our drink orders. 3 of us wanted Kirs. I reiterated that we wanted Kirs with white wine and not a Kir Royale with champagne. He rolled his eyes as if to say he knew the difference. Well, lo and behold when he brought our drinks they were in fact Kir... More

Sweet Basil is the restaurant you wish all could be: mouth-watering flavors and combinations, dignified service, excellent wine list. All with a setting beyond compare and a long story in Vail. This is a world-class restaurant, elevated beyond the general 'must-try' group by it's quality.

We have been many times and looked forward to visiting on our last trip. However we were to satisfied and don't feel that they have maintained the standards which we have experienced in the past. We were so taken back with the first dinner that we took our family of seven a second time and were equally disappointed. The ambience... More

We have eaten here many times, and only once several years ago were we disappointed. This time we were part of a group of about 18 people. We had a set menu with two appetizers, three main courses, and two desserts. The appetizers were buffalo carpaccio and the colorado heirloom tomato salad; the three entrees were roasted Alaskan halibut, spiced... More

We have been to Sweet Basil countless times and it has never let us down. Just keeps getting better: Food, service, wine list. All fabulous! While it can be tough to get a table, it's always worth the effort!
