We have eaten at Matsuhisa Vail numerous times. All of the meals have been outstanding. For a real treat, try the Omakase tasting menu. Omakase means "from the heart" and the chefs serve whatever inspires them that evening. If you go off-season (late September/October) you can have a 5 course Omakase for $45. Otherwise on season, it is $125 or... More

Nobu Matsuhisa doles out his best in this fashionable, well-crafted concept combining asian flavors with South American ingredients. Everything I've had here, though expensive (it's a Nobu spinoff and Vail pricing doesn't discourage the prices), is entirely worth it. Indulge in a culinary experience! Head in during off-season and take full advantage of the omakase menu. Trust the chefs and... More

An honestly beautiful setting with open views of the mountains, good service and pleasant ambience. I really wanted to be swept away with great food, and although very fresh and good, the meal itself was ordinary. I had wished for something special about the food, the taste or the presentation, and it was good, but not great. Service was very... More

This was an outstanding Japanese restaurant. Well beyond a simple sushi place :). Excellent menu and great service (although a bit pretentious ). The view was great and the food was prepared brilliantly. I did not like every dish but that does not diminish the quality. The prices are quite high though. I would go back and pick different dishes... More

My wife introduced me to sushi almost 20 years ago before it exploded onto every street corner in the USA. Suffice it to say, we know our sushi: good, bad, average, awesome. and Terribad. We wanted to treat ourselves since it was our last night on our trip and Matsuhisa didn't disappoint. Fresh fish and seafood, great selection, good specials.... More

Having a 2nd home in Vail for over 20 years I have eaten in most of the fine restaurants in the valley. Eating Here was quite exceptional. The food was excellent, the service was great, the ambiance was superb. The only downside was that it is quite expensive, however I found the food and experience was worth it.

I have eaten at many Matsuhisa's and the one at Vail is fantastic. The food and service are first rate and there is an energetic atmosphere. A definite Vail recommendation
