Nice room albeit noisy and tables packed in tight. Food was excellent but spoiled by our dreadful server. When she first arrived at the table I suspected we were not in for the best of service given her demeanour. Ordered drinks and they took about ten minutes to arrive then long wait to place order for starters. When she asked... More

My wife and I ate at this Nobu franchise as a finale to our vacation in Vail. We sat at the sushi bar versus the main restaurant, which I agree is packed too tight and very loud. However if you can get a seat at the bar you can watch the sushi chefs prepare the courses and over hear some... More

We were very much looking forward to dinner at Matsuhisa since we have travelled throughout Japan on numerous occasions and it is one of our favorite cuisines. This was not a pleasant experience. The menu is extensive but there are no descriptions of the preparations, meaning you probably want to discuss ingredients, method of preparation, etc. with your waiter. Normally,... More

I've eaten in several Nobu restaurants. This place had sublime food and excellent service. Right in Vail! Check it out!

On the plus side, some of the dishes we had were quite good: an uni/oyster dish; an off-menu, somewhat bony, but worth-the-effort grilled hamachi collar; the shishito peppers; and a shiso-uni tempura. Having spent a lot of time in the Vancouver area, for me, the signature black cod dish was a bit disappointing. But for a local dining scene that... More

We visited Matsuhisa with some friends this month and as always it was great! Even though it was a little bit noisy and crowded, the service was impecable and the food was superb. Definitely a must!!

I've eaten at many Matsuhisa and Nobu restaurants but found this to be the least tasty. Also the service was not great. Sat 15 mins in the at 545pm when the restaurant was before anyone came over for drinks. Kept forgetting our stuff and not filling drinks, etc. I think we should have ate a Yama instead. The special yellowtail... More

We have gone to eat here every trip for the last 3years. The food is excellent and the black cod is one of the best meals I have tasted. The dining room was way too loud and the service was well below average. If I pay that much for dinner I expect top end service. The bill was to high... More

So all the reviews are true, if you don't have a reservation don't go. We had one and they open up the door a little bit to check and make sure you are alive then they slam it in your face and tell you to wait. We had 8 guys and ordered a ton of food, thought the price was... More

Had dinner with the wife and three boys (6, 4, 2) and most everything was delicious as would be expected (the sea bass less so). Of course it's nice to have a good dinner out while on vacation, but the bill here did seem excessive, even for a top restaurant like this.
