Lovely little patio

We arrived late in Vail and found Big Bear an hour before its closing. While the interior did not look inviting on a sunny afternoon, the little patio tables with hanging baskets of flowers was a delightful spot to sit and soak up the Vail vibe. We ordered sandwiches (the "Phoenix" and... read more

Sandwich was very delicious. The only issue was, we were asked if we wanted a pickle with it. Sure, we said. Not told that it was 25 cents for a sliver of a pickle. No biggie!

Let's face it- the dining options in Vail can be a little pricey. Fortunately this place is in a great location in the village that offers both quick service and super tasty food. The vegetarian options are outstanding, and my meat eater pals said the same about their meals. The seating is limited, the one bathroom is small (and as... More

We really enjoyed our sandwiches here after skiing. It's just a few steps from the mountain but very tiny. Be sure to grab a seat right away then go place your order. The chicken salad was great as well as the ham and cheese. It's a no frills place but good food, service and the price is right. They have... More

There are plenty of sandwich and other options. The food comes out fairly quickly and tastes good. It's also located right by the river, with a few tables outside.

Nice place. Lots of choice for a small Bistro. Friendly staff with good basics. We had a Lox and Bagel and Breakfast Burrito. Both were fresh tasting and well-prepared.

We were looking for a place to meet up as a group for lunch during a day of skiing. We wanted somewhere good but quick, and not too expensive--and this place was exactly that. It was delicious, and much more affordable than the options on the mountain. Was a little concerned that a group of 6 wouldn't fit, but we... More

If I lived in Vail I would be a regular. Nice coffee, good real food at a fair price. Even a small selection of adult beverages

You want a great sandwich to take up on the mountain with you? The Masterpiece was my absolute favorite. Also they serve breakfast ALL DAY! Their breakfast sandwich on a croissant was AMAZING. So light and flakey, but still hearty enough to not leave you hungry.

After reading rave reviews, we decided to lunch at Big Bear and were somewhat disappointed by its sandwiches. The quality of the meat, for example roast beef and prosciutto, is good yet the final products (in this case Lumberjack and Masterpiece) are below expectation. I don’t know if they’re stingy or just amateur, but everything turns out dry and tasteless,... More

Our apologies on the toppings - another customer had ordered the same sandwiches with the toppings deletions, and we delivered them to the wrong party. Please bring this to our attention next time - we'll correct it immediately! We pride ourselves on offering both the best ingredients - fresh-baked breads and Boar's Head meats and cheeses - served warm along... More
