Excellent Place for GF Cheap Eats

Big Bear has a great selection of GF options mainly due to it being a panini and breakfast joint with good GF bread. The Piglet is very good (ham, bacon, honey mustard...). Egg sandwiches work as well. Kids loved the homemade cinnamon rolls (not GF).

This little spot near Gondola One is a great break from the high priced restaurants in Vail. They make fresh sandwiches to order, perfect for taking up the mountain or for a short lunch break before a ride back up the gondola. We called ahead and the sandwiches were ready in 10 minutes!

Really cheerful girl at the counter. Fresh made hot sandwiches. I had the lumberjack and green salad for about $20. Sandwich was filling with a good amount of sliced roast beef. The green salad was a bit dismal but fresh leaves and the most green I've seen in town. Right amount of tasty dressing in a separate container which could... More

I like to eat here. So do many locals I know. It's not expensive, the food is out in a timely manner, it's tasty and they make an obvious effort to be healthy as well. My favorite is the tree hugger (full of veggies) and the BLAT (Bacon Lettuce Avocado and Lettuce) doesn't skimp.

Received delightful and cheerful service from Allie and Sara! It was a local and home-made kind of experience. Also dug the bear painting in the bathroom

I visited for breakfast and had a great experience. The menu is wide enough for most. Very comfortable seating (cozy) and service is great. Would recommend!

Recommended by a local city employee, we headed to Big Bear Bistro for breakfast. I had scrambled eggs, biscuit and ham. the eggs were overcooked, the ham was like sliced ham from a lunchmeat package, but the biscuit was OK.

We enjoyed espresso, chai, plenty of water, French toast and a whole grain bagel! Lots of other guests! Cozy and comfortable. A place to come back to.

We had a great meal at the Big Bear Bistro. The portions were large and the tuna salad was the best I've ever eaten. The owner was very cordial and the staff was very friendly. I'll definitely eat there again!

What a reasonable priced restaurant for breakfast or lunch! The crepes and sandwiches are large enough for two people. Pick up your drink, order your food and wait for your food. Good find!
