Good food, weak service

This restaurant sits atop the Gondola route from Vail Village. The food was good, but the service was weak. My wife has excellent sesame crusted Tuna. My lamb shank was OK. It tasted more like boiled meat goulash style. Our starters were excellent. The cheese plate had a variety of great tastes and... read more

We waited a long while to get a server to acknowledge our presence. Then, to make matters worse, the waiter failed to put in our order. This made us late for ski lessons. The only positive was that the waiter took responsibility for his mistake and gave us our order for free.

Two of us had dinner after ski biking - what great views from the top of the mountain. I loved the short rib wontons and the chicken pot pie and the salmon - also the desserts are small and awesome - so have a few :)

This was a very simple dinner experience that taking the gondola up to the restaurant should be considered and integral part up. We all liked our food, my wife had the pot pie in an iron pot that could have fed all four of us. My son had the tuna, which was cooked rare as ordered and generous. My daughter... More

it is nice to be able to sit and have wait service, rather than the lines in the cafeteria. Food and service were very good

If I could sum up my review in one sentence, I would say the following: Ride the gondola up, check out the view, and then head back down again to look for another restaurant. As a start, they advertise a breathtaking mountaintop view, but the view from inside the diner is negligible. The service is fine, which is a saving... More

I went with my family and the restaurant was 40% full and service was super slow. The restaurant was freezing and the table was slightly tilted and the food was very expensive.

The staff was absolutely wonderful and the food was even better. Great views make for a wonderful lunch even for the non-skier.

Go here!! The ride up the gondola is relaxing and romantic. The restaurant atmosphere does not reflect the great service and amazing food. Brian, our server, helped us with our order. The soup and polenta appetizers were excellent! Lamb entree was very tasty, although a bit fatty. Desserts were very decadent!

If you want a reasonably priced, delicious meal overlooking the Rocky Mountains then Bistro 14 should be on your list. The gondola ride up to the restaurant was unique and gave us spectacular views of the mountains (keep an eye out for deer on the slopes below). Don't miss the Lamb Lollipops, Ahi Tuna, Pork Belly Sliders and Fried Chicken.... More
