Bella Luna Pizzeria

Improve this listing
Ranked #1 of 36 restaurants in Trinidad
Certificate of Excellence 2014
Cuisines: Italian
Description: We found the restaurant on yelp and decided to give it a try after we had had a long day of driving/sightseeing and we were not dressed for anything that couldn't accept road weary types. (i.e. slightly sunburned, hair covered with a hat, etc). So for our dinner we ate at the Bella Luna Pizzeria. They have a fantastic wood fired pizza oven and their pizza is delicious - reminds us of the ones we got in Italy. They have a good wine selection and some microbrew beer selections were available. The owners, Sandy and Jeff, are very friendly and really welcoming. Their pride in their place shows in the restoration work they did on this historic building. They have a unigue mix of pizzas that are their own creations but I have to say, judging by the pizza we had that included "pesto" as one of the toppings, we were happily surprised that the pesto did not overpower the other flavors. They also offer a daily special for dinner (when we were there). They also offer gelato which I believe is a secret too good not to be shared. We were content after splitting a 12" pizza and some mozzarella bread sticks and slept well that night. We'll be back.

Found this place via trip advisor on my way from Texas to Denver. The pizzas are indeed delicious, crispy bottoms and fresh toppings. Yummie. However if you order one make sure you have enough time coz they take a long time to make, like over 45 minutes long. And don't make the mistake of asking your waitress why it has... More

Wonderful wood-fired pizza in an historic downtown building. Service was prompt, and waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful pizza, as so many other reviewers have said. Stopped in on a Monday evening around 8:15 and had trouble finding a place to sit! Even though it was busy we got good service from 1 of 2 servers. Pizza is baked in a great wood fired oven and there were so many combinations to choose from that we had... More

I'll start off by saying that if you would like a place to eat and cool off in the summer, this is NOT the place. The pizza is pretty decent as it is brick oven made. However, the oven is inconveniently placed in the middle of the restaurant. With that being said, it was impossible to stay cool. Even though... More

Driving between Denver and Santa Fe, we needed somewhere to break the journey. It was an undiscovered gem. Excellent pizza (to share - plenty). Great base and lush topping. A half sized salad was more than enough. Lovely staff. And they went up in my estimation when we came back on our return. They were showing the World Cup Final... More

Fresh made and was delicious. Took a bit long to make but in the end it was worth it. Waitresses have personalities as if they really care and were charming.

Pizza is amazing. Split the meat lovers style pizza and it was honestly the best pizza I've ever had. I was only in town for one day but if I ever make it back to Trinidad I know this will be the first place I go!

When we arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday night, the place was jumping--nearly every table filled. The young women who took orders, managed the crowd, delivered food and cleaned up were amazing! The pizza was wood fired and excellent. We even had a nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. It is a place we'll come to again.

I've taken to not giving 5 stars almost at all. In this case, they earned the 5 stars. Atmosphere, service, and most of all the pizza were top notch. You won't regret eating here.

I love taking my friends and family members to this place. The pizza and salads are amazing. I have even been there solo and always enjoy taking the pizza home to have at another meal. It does get crowded on the weekends but is worth the wait for a table.
