Delightful patio, friendly service, tasty food

Starving around 5 pm, no time to eat during the bluegrass festival, stopped in with a small dog, quiet, well behaved and tired, they let us keep her outside the railing, bread divine, coq-a-vin delicious, a little pricey, but great atmosphere and staff love their pets, could have been in France... read more

We were in Telluride over the 4th of July weekend, so getting into any of the better restaurants was nearly impossible. We waited to go to this place until Sunday when the town was very quiet. Even so, there were no tables available inside, so we were seated on the patio. It has rained earlier, so that's probably the only... More

I cannot say enough good things about this place. For starters the service was impeccable. Then my husband and I ordered a few starters and were wowed by them. Entrees same thing....liked so much that we stayed for dessert. My takeaway is if you are coming to Telluride and looking for a wonderful high end meal this is a must... More

The food was excellent but the service was pretty slow. The French onion soup was very tasty but somewhat unusual as it was creamy. The coq au vin was outstanding and was served with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. The bar is noisy. A pet peeve of mine is that the bar played music and the dining room another, but... More

I have been to Telluride a few times now and finally decided to give La Marmotte a try, as I have been to another high-end restaurant almost every time I'm here. Still considered off-season this time of the year in Telluride, and sometimes, that's how I like it here. Telluride is now my second home and getting acquainted to all... More

My Mother and sister and I arrived in Telluride in shoulder season and few places were open but this lovely spot was open, welcoming and has a great and attractive young staff. The spring pea soup was bright and delicious and my steak frites was perfectly cooked. We are going back again tonight! Excellent cocktails as well.

What can I say? Excellent cocktails, a really well constructed wine list, not encyclopedic but providing real depth and variety, particularly decent red burgundies and west coast pinots. Choice prix-fixe dinners get rotated, super selection of entrees frm crisply roasted scallops to duck breast to die for. Plus the decor is just right and it's quiet and serene. Over the... More

Reviewers' consensus is that La Marmotte has excellent food and we agree with that whole-heartedly. Some doubt has been cast on the service in the past but we saw no trace of that having received outstanding attention throughout. How often do you have a waiter offer you a half glass of wine just as you are about to exhaust your... More

When you visit this type of place for the Happy Hour specials, you never know whether they will look down their noses at you ... thankfully the staff here couldn't be more friendly ! We had a couple of their gorgeous appetizers, and would have happily returned again if we hadn't run out of time. The venue is stunning, and... More

Our experience at La Marmotte was consistent with other TA reviewers experienced. If you read the reviews you will see a clear theme : Good food, poor service and pricy. Dinner will run about $80 to $100 per head. The atmosphere is very nice as the restaurant is housed in an old refurbished ice house and the unique art work... More
