French bistro cuisine is ultimately about simple food done excellently. La Marmotte fills the bill, although your bill will not be small. My seared scallop appetizer is not to be missed, while my wife's French onion soup was unusually creamy, not the usual broth, crouton and cheese version. My wife's hanger steak was cooked as ordered, seasoned with a fine... More

This place offers quality dishes prepared by a gifted cheff, although it's a bit expensive. What I didn't like about this restaurant is the fact that's a little bit dark. Also, it's not on the main street, however, it's easy to get there.

I made this reservation well in advance and chose it based on reviews and personal knowledge of La Marmotte. The town of Telluride was pretty quiet on Christmas, with just a few of the bigger shops open, but we had a lovely experience at La Marmotte. "New Bedford Scallops" were on the menu, which we were pleasantly surprised at because... More

We went during the peak busy season after Christmas and were seated in this beautiful cozy dining room - our waiter was very friendly and welcoming - even to our youngest daughter. We had one of the best Lamb sirloin and the best beef short ribs on a delicious bed of whipped mashed potatoes! Absolutely leave room for dessert! Warm... More

We had dinner reservations for 5:30 pm and arrived early, but we were promptly greeted and seated in a quiet corner with a commanding view of the restaurant. The walls were decorated with an artist's pictures, which were available for sale. They had a happy hour special of fresh oysters for 1$ each and we wanted a dozen. We ordered... More

Its a highly rated restaurant, to the point that we thought it wise to reserve from the UK before we left. We each ate Coq au Vin as a main course, me following a quail risotto, my wife before a chocolate pudding. everything was enjoyable, nicely cooked and served by pleasant, efficient people. We'd certainly go again if we return... More

Although ambiance was very nice and the server was doing as well as she could, they were understaffed so service was slow and neither the onion soup or the lamb shank had any taste--they were poorly seasoned.

We walked into this restaurant without reservations and were seated in the bar area for dinner. It's a bit pricey and we weren't sure what to expect but the food was excellent, the bar area interesting and the service friendly. We came back with reservations for the main dining room and while they were extraordinarily busy, we were not disappointed.... More

All the dishes we had here were cheffed beautifully. A classic coq au vin hit all the right notes. We needed to add a bit of salt which is a minor deal. The braised short ribs were succulent and tender, which in my experience is unusual for short ribs served off the bone. Again, they were undersalted but excellent. A... More
