No pretentions - just good food in a cozy atmosphere

You need to book for the restaurant, but if not, the Happy Hour bar menu is quite satisfying and you sit with the locals. The food was great, interesting cocktails. Set back from Main Street in Telluride and not very inspiring from the exterior but don't walk away.

Our experience at La Marmotte was consistent with other TA reviewers experienced. If you read the reviews you will see a clear theme : Good food, poor service and pricy. Dinner will run about $80 to $100 per head. The atmosphere is very nice as the restaurant is housed in an old refurbished ice house and the unique art work... More

Anyone who knows anything about Telluride dining knows about this great restaurant, and so all that I can add to the conversation is that the tuna carpaccio is absolutely superlative!

After long day of skiing, we settled in for an awesome meal at La Marmotte. Beet salad starter was shockingly good, entrees solid. Actually, the entire meal was solid. Only thing holding back from five stars was service - it was prompt but our server seemed to be counting the seconds until her vacation. We will go back. After all,... More

We had dinner at La Marmotte on our first night in Telluride. The food was delicious, our waiter made great recommendations and helped us with the wine pairings. Great choices. Fabulous food!

This restaurant in located in an historic building that once stored ice. It has a nice dining room. Food is a bit uneven as is the service (common in our little town). Sit back and give it a chance.

If you can get a place at the bar, you'll get tastes of really great food and wine after a day of skiing. I am sure the full dinners are fantastic too.

When you advertise a french onion and it comes out in a creamy broth, you know you've been had. Don't get me wrong, it was decent food, you just won't be transported to Paris. The beef short rib and lamb shank, while delicious, tasted eerily similar. If you only have two or three meals in Telluride, this us not one... More

We had a lovely meal here. Appetizers very exceptional. Beef tartar flavorful and delicious, goat cheese and onion tart rich and creamy, charcuterie plate was diverse, interesting and delicious. Entrees also delicious. Braised short ribs very tasted but needed something with a little crunch on the plate, New York Strip loin cooked perfectly with great sides, Coq au vin while... More

La Marmotte remains our first choice in Telluride for food because it has been great over the years. However, service has slipped noticeably over 3 years, and this last visit we has a real doofus for a waiter. He brought everything late, including a pre-dinner cocktail just after the main course. There are many treats on the menu, but the... More
