We scream for ice cream!

We asked a guy in another shop where he got his ice cream, and he sent us to La Cocina. There's an ice cream case at the front of the restaurant, and the flavors were fantastic. As we continued down the street, someone else asked us where we got our ice cream, so we sent them to La Cocina too!

This was the most unpleasant experience eating out we he in telluride. Lady that took out order tapped her finger like we needed to hurry when there wasn't even a line at the time and that's disrespectful. We should've just left then. Food was overpriced and soggy when we received it. The enchilada was all cheese and 2 okra. Just... More

Slow service, rude owner (when not crowded), overpriced, not good food. There are much better choices in town for the money.

Hi Steven, I regret that you had a less than awesome experience at our restaurant. I was not there on Saturday so I'm not sure who you thought was the owner. If you come back to Telluride again, I'd like to buy you and your party a meal to make up for your negative experience. Thank you for your review.... More

It seemed a bit pricey for 2 tacos but then I realized it came with your choice of two sides (plus all you can eat chips and salsa). I selected the side salad (really delicious) and veggies (ditto). You can have rice and beans if you prefer more bulk. There was so much food that 2 not-starving people could have... More

Restaurant is casual with counter service for your order and food is brought to your table. Great patio in back. Very good drinks and food. Good choices for vegans. Will definitely go back.

The service here is painfully slow, and the coffee is really weak. I ordered chilaquilas for breakfast which were sticky and mushy. Ordered the egg easy, got hard. I can't tell if the flavors were good, because the dish was inedibly salty.

I'm surprised we haven't received more bad reviews for the week of Bluegrass Festival. We recently experienced a big transformation of our line staff and this 10 thousand person event here in Telluride is our biggest week of the year, half of that being breakfast. Breakfast is the most difficult because it is all cooked to order and requires really well... More

Yes, Cocina de Luz has very good, fresh, (fairly healthy) Mexican food. But their ice cream is to die for. All hand-made on-site from the finest organic ingredients. And the waffle cones are baked right before your eyes. Don't leave without trying the vanilla bean and the chocolate cherry. The food is also wonderful. They also have great fresh fruit... More

I always eat here are least once when I am in Telluride. The ingredients are fresh, with more vegetables than you get in a typical Mexican place, and the red chile is very much in the delicious Colorado/ New Mexico style. I order an enchilada plate, help myself to the spicy pico de gallo and chips, and sit in the... More

We had dinner at La Cocina after reading a couple TA reviews. My experience was not as good as some other reviewers. The good: the side salad was nice with fresh but limited ingredients and a tasty/zesty lime cilantro dressing that I am going to try to learn to make. The garlic veggie side dish was soggy but I appreciated... More
