Good Mexican food

The food was quite good here. We had lunch after driving Imogene Pass from Ouray and had worked up a good appetite. The enchilada plate was good, and the chips and salsa were also good. The only possible negative would be the prices. High but about standard for Telluride. Overall a good spot... read more

This review is based only on their breakfast enchilada. We have friends who love it so your mileage may vary, but I can NOT recommend the breakfast enchilada. It was just a hot pile of gooey American cheese with a few beans here and there and a stale tortilla. And it took 45 minutes from order to service. Maybe we... More

Organic eats, fresh juices, food is always good. We ate 3 times this 2 week trip and we're happy each visit. Best for lunch, kids love it. Chips and salsa bar are complementary and are fresh and welcome. I always feel the place could be a bit cleaner but never bad in that way. Overall best value next to brown... More

Stopped here for breakfast and wasn't overly impressed by the menu. Was surprised by how much food we got, and liked the home fries and green chile sauce. Enjoyed eating on the patio.

We went here because they said they had gluten free in the menu magazine, and I have a child with allergies. It was tasteless food, that was cold, and very over-priced. Of all the places we ate in Telluride this was the worst and the most expensive. Lunch cost us over $80 for 4 people and we didn't even order... More

We had been trying to find a place for breakfast and there were few choices. Ran into a local who suggested La Cocina. You order at the counter. Get your own chips & salsa and then decide to sit inside, at street side tables, or in the lovely patio in the back with its colorful pottery and beautiful edible plants.... More

This was the most unpleasant experience eating out we he in telluride. Lady that took out order tapped her finger like we needed to hurry when there wasn't even a line at the time and that's disrespectful. We should've just left then. Food was overpriced and soggy when we received it. The enchilada was all cheese and 2 okra. Just... More

We asked a guy in another shop where he got his ice cream, and he sent us to La Cocina. There's an ice cream case at the front of the restaurant, and the flavors were fantastic. As we continued down the street, someone else asked us where we got our ice cream, so we sent them to La Cocina too!

Slow service, rude owner (when not crowded), overpriced, not good food. There are much better choices in town for the money.

Hi Steven, I regret that you had a less than awesome experience at our restaurant. I was not there on Saturday so I'm not sure who you thought was the owner. If you come back to Telluride again, I'd like to buy you and your party a meal to make up for your negative experience. Thank you for your review.... More
