Good, fresh, Colorado Mexican

I always eat here are least once when I am in Telluride. The ingredients are fresh, with more vegetables than you get in a typical Mexican place, and the red chile is very much in the delicious Colorado/ New Mexico style. I order an enchilada plate, help myself to the spicy pico de gallo and... read more

The service here is painfully slow, and the coffee is really weak. I ordered chilaquilas for breakfast which were sticky and mushy. Ordered the egg easy, got hard. I can't tell if the flavors were good, because the dish was inedibly salty.

I'm surprised we haven't received more bad reviews for the week of Bluegrass Festival. We recently experienced a big transformation of our line staff and this 10 thousand person event here in Telluride is our biggest week of the year, half of that being breakfast. Breakfast is the most difficult because it is all cooked to order and requires really well... More

Yes, Cocina de Luz has very good, fresh, (fairly healthy) Mexican food. But their ice cream is to die for. All hand-made on-site from the finest organic ingredients. And the waffle cones are baked right before your eyes. Don't leave without trying the vanilla bean and the chocolate cherry. The food is also wonderful. They also have great fresh fruit... More

We had dinner at La Cocina after reading a couple TA reviews. My experience was not as good as some other reviewers. The good: the side salad was nice with fresh but limited ingredients and a tasty/zesty lime cilantro dressing that I am going to try to learn to make. The garlic veggie side dish was soggy but I appreciated... More

This place is an order at the counter and they bring it out type of place. The food was good, but average. However, the ladies working there were incredibly friendly to us, so they get an extra star for the service.

Had a vegetarian burrito. The beans look like they are refried but they are not. No lard is used and only the healthiest ingredients used. My son got the tacos and loved them. My husband got the Enchiladas and loved the green salsa. The salsa and chips are fresh as can be and complimentary. Place was clean and staff was... More

The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, and you have to order at the bar, but the food is wonderful. All dishes are organic and feature local ingredients. I even had a margarita that was great. If you are looking for something convenient and healthy in Telluride, this is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

We had dinner at La Cocina de Luz in April. The vault door will tell you that it used to be a bank back in the mining days. It was the first week of the annual Telluride shutdown after Easter where almost all of the restaurants were shut down for vacation, repairs, rest, etc. We had an assortment of La... More

Good Mexican style food at a good price in a ski town, with good service, right? It is true. Friendly staff, large selection of dishes, and great hot sauce selection. Open for all three meals. I can't single out one dish to try, they have all been good thus far. A lot of children, so I would say that it... More
