I did lots of research to find a nice restaurant in or close to Winter Park for our 30th anniversary trip. I settled on this one instead of the Ranch House as it sounded cozier. What a find. This place is exactly what you imagine when you think of "old west". Beautifully decorated with wood walls and old west touches. The atmosphere is very family friendly. The food was delicious. We shared several starters instead of individual dinners because the starters sounded amazing. Here is what we had - Bison Chili - hearty and tasty... More

After some hits and misses, we decided to take our ski bike guide's suggestion and go here for dinner. This was the best meal we had here over our long weekend. The service was also very good. Everything was fresh and well prepared. The venison-bison sausage chili was especially good, as were the pork chop (huge) and short rib entrees.... More

No doubt -- hands down -- my favorite dining experience in Grand County (area around Winter Park). This place is Old World elegant with contemporary common sense. The food is fantastic. The Wagyu beef burgers are great! The Miso salmon is wonderful. The apple cobbler with carmel is splendid. Spend some time looking around the place -- particularly the wood... More

The kids menu had some healthy options, which is great. It was nice to be able to have a differet meal every tme without having to leave the Hotel. Good options and I enjoyed everything I ordered.

we loved how close and comfortable the restaurant is. the food is good and the atmosphere is relaxed--lots of apres ski families and everyone is enjoying themselves. the huge fire in the center makes for a warm and inviting feel.

We have been here numerous times and it definitely is going down hill first the service is spotty at best then there is the food. They used to have great bar app. but now they hav small plates which would be fine except for their choices -mussels, Brussels sprouts, pretzel, Mac and cheese, meatballs really this is what the waitress... This was our fourth stay at Devils Thumb. We love the resort but had have some trouble with the staff. That being said, we've eaten several times at Hecks. The food is OK, but overpriced. I ordered the Pork Green Chili and was served a smallish bowl with half of a taco sized quesadilla and I think it was $15.... More

We love eating at Heck's after a day of skiing at DT. Good options for our gluten-free daughter. Tip: even if you want a full meal, arrive in time for Happy Hour (4-6) as appetizers are half price and drinks a bargain ($2 pints, 2 for 1 well drinks, and any wine by the glass is $8). The appetizer menu... More
