great service, a salad bar with fresh and healthy options, good wine selection, a good choice for an "early bird" menu

This is my 2nd review of this restaurant. In short: great experience this time around. Friendly setting and service. We both had the Prime Rib and enjoyed it tremendously. Unbelievably tasty and highly recommended.

Salad Bar not as good as Pizza Hut, poor lighting, food under cooked and over priced, service lackluster. With all the dining choices in Steamboat, don't waste your time.

Our family had a wonderful birthday celebration at the Ore House on Thursday night. We were seated promptly upon arrival and took advantage of their Sunset menu, which is priced about 15% less than their regular menu prices. (Same entrees, but party must be seated before 6:30pm.) $15-25. There were several families with children there too. We ordered the baby... More

Went here because we were looking for a place for steak. Boy did we make the right decision. All the cuts of meat my family tried (prime rib, sirloin, ny strip, filet) were cooked as ordered. Salad bar is very good. Deep fried potatoes weren't as good as expected, but an overall excellent meal, best of our 8 day trip... More

Pricey but these people know how to fix a steak and provide a fresh salad bar. Service was attentive and food was as good as expected for the price. Prime Rib dinner was excellent and Crab cake appetizer was rich and full of crab, not filler. We will be back!!

We had a very good experience at this restaurant during our last vacation. Located in a hundred year old barn, this place made us feel like being out west, without feeling like being in a touristy place, if you know what I mean. Our meals came with a salad bar, but the salad was so fresh and made of 95%... More

We arrived at the Ore House early after opening and took advantage of their Sunset menu, which is several dollars less than after the crowd arrives plus drink and appetizer specials. The steak and trout were perfect, the wait staff were friendly and accommodating and the surroundings are beautiful. We ate there 2 nights in a row!

Our family had a fantastic experience on Saturday at the Ore House. We were seated promptly upon our arrival and received a warm welcome by our server. The menu had many great options and quite a few early bird items before 6:30. We finished the meal off with homemade peach cobbler that tasted as good as my grandmother's.

Really good food with a very nice waiter. The trout was particularly good as was the chocolate mousse. If I had known there was outdoor seating I would have tried to secure reservations to eat outdoors. The inside is fine but when it is so lovely outside it would have been better to be outside.
