We had a very good experience at this restaurant during our last vacation. Located in a hundred year old barn, this place made us feel like being out west, without feeling like being in a touristy place, if you know what I mean. Our meals came with a salad bar, but the salad was so fresh and made of 95%... More

We arrived at the Ore House early after opening and took advantage of their Sunset menu, which is several dollars less than after the crowd arrives plus drink and appetizer specials. The steak and trout were perfect, the wait staff were friendly and accommodating and the surroundings are beautiful. We ate there 2 nights in a row!

Our family had a fantastic experience on Saturday at the Ore House. We were seated promptly upon our arrival and received a warm welcome by our server. The menu had many great options and quite a few early bird items before 6:30. We finished the meal off with homemade peach cobbler that tasted as good as my grandmother's.

Really good food with a very nice waiter. The trout was particularly good as was the chocolate mousse. If I had known there was outdoor seating I would have tried to secure reservations to eat outdoors. The inside is fine but when it is so lovely outside it would have been better to be outside.

So this is going to age me, but it was like a night out in the 1980's - from the decor to the menu style and our fellow patrons bore this out - we were maybe the youngest in there - clearly the grey haired set still like to eat as they did in their younger years :-) ! I... More

Loved the 'house' specialty potatoes! It was unseasonably warm so it was a bit warm inside to be thoroughly comfortable

The best part was us getting there at opening and having special prices for the first hour. Steak was cooked perfect as ordered and my wife had robs, tender and good sauce. Old barn atmosphere was neat.

Night before a fishing excursion on the Yampa. Were with some friends and their cousin who we had met before: boy can she talk that Jo. We spent a long time talking after we finished eating and were never harrassed by the waite staff. Thank goodness it was a Thur nite. Everybody had the trout but me; I had the... More

We haven't dined in all of the restaurants rated above the Ore House #15 rating but I am surprised it isn't rated higher. This was our second time to dine there and it was just as wonderful as the first time. They have an early menu for those wanting to save a few bucks but the food is the same... More

The perfect place for a birthday celebration. Many choices to please a large group of folks.Excellent wait staff who are willing to take a few photos as well. Liked the wine selection(Meomi),fresh salad and steak entree and especially the heated apple crisp. The atmosphere is casual with touches of decor from the 1970's.
