Italian Delight

A busy dinner location in downtown. Sat at the bar and was excellently served by Meridith. She suggested an excellent Italian win. The green salad was very tasty. The cioppino was good over spaghetti, should have asked the market price. A little overpriced at $38. A very pleasant experience.

This place was suggested to us by our server, Betsy, who we had met outside of the restaurant. So glad that we took her advice. And lucky for us we called ahead and made a reservation. On a Wednesday night during the 1st week of Feb they were completely full. The wait was an hour for people just walking in.... More

Reliably good Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. The Burrata is a must for an appetizer (but all of the appetizers are good) and the Lasagna is terrific. Large portions (you might want to share the salads to save room for your entrée), fine selection of wines at reasonable prices, great garlic bread and for dessert I highly recommend the... More

Great meal. Our server recommended the Burrata and it was perfect. The highlight of the meal. The salad we loved was the organic green salad - split it, very large. Ordered the pasta a la vodka and pappardelle. Was so full after the salad and cheese, wasn't Hungary for dinner. Pasta a la vodka was spicy and the fresh pasta... More

Food remains great year after year. Nice reward of comfort food after hours spent on the slopes. Pizzas were great. Lasagna and gnocchi were both sooo good. We had heard there was new ownership but the place remains worth the stop!

The only reason I gave this a 4 rather than a 5 is that they messed up our reservation. I made it for 7:30, but they had down 7. So when we got there, they had given our table away and even though other tables were opening up and they were seating other reservations, they were making us wait for... More

Last ate here in August 2014. Since then the decor has changed somewhat. They've moved a few things around and added TV. But what makes this adjustment great is the menu change. They removed some of the lower-end-but-saleable-to-outsiders items, and inserted some ambitiously successful pieces such as cioppino, the locally-raised pork with gnochi and speghetti and their fantastic, large meatballs.... My husband and stopped in for pizza after seeing the great happy hour that they advertised. It was so good we returned the next day for more. We're used to our NY pizza, so we were skeptical, but it was amazing!

The server we had at mambo Italiano was so so sweet and really good at her job! She catered to everyone in our party including the kids and grandmas. A+++++ for service! The food however was not very good. The vodka sauce for the penne had a funky taste and the pizza was below average. The eggplant was over cooked... More

We had a couple of choices for Italian meals in Steamboat but this place's name stuck in my head ("hey, mambo..." yup, that's the one). Went on a week night around 8pm and there was a wait. Always a good sign. The place is narrow and the open kitchen/pizza oven was front and center leaving no questions asked to their... More
