Poor version of years past

We have been taking our family to this dining experience since we came to Steamboat with our young kids, and now we have been going with our grandkids. So we have many years of experience with this venue. Sadly, over the past two years, it has suffered a steep decline. The Sundogs, the band which... read more

I would agree with other reviewers that the buffet is lackluster. Ribs, trout and turkey were dry though prime rib was moist and tasty. Could have been because we were there between Christmas and New Years. Restaurant was full and food was plentiful. Wait staff wasn't very attentive. Band was very good at bringing kids and adults to the dance... More

If you are looking for a neat way to spend an evening with your family, head on up the mountain! The staff dresses western and is great with their customers. There is a fun band with singalongs for the kids and dancing for the older folks. The bar is open and the food is amazing. Buffets are the best because... More

My kids really enjoyed this meal and event atop the mountain. The gondola ride up was fun and the food (buffet style) was good. The live country-western band got the whole family involved. My only complaint is that it was $130 (with tip) for my family of four.

I was at Steamboat Springs with a group of 38 people for a week of skiing. 4 of us decided to take in the western BBQ buffet. It was fabulous. The prime rib was mouth watering and melted in your mouth. The variety of food served at the buffet was outstanding. Couldn't ask for anything more. It was there. There... More

The kids had a great time dancing to the band. It starts playing at 7. I wish that they started earlier since tired little skiers need to get back to the hotel and to bed. The buffet is mediocre but plentiful. The ribs were truly dreadful. The rib roast was better. The sides were barely warm even though we were... More

We've done this the last three years for New Year's Eve. The band is good, but they do the exact same thing every year, with the exact same music in the same order. They have great activities they do for younger kids, like hanging your spoon on your nose and doing the Hokey Pokey. The food however has become less... More

This place is average, at best. It's $42/adult and $22/child over 5; so not worth the price paid. Food is barely warm and unless you haven't eaten in months, it's not worth the price. Menu selection is limited. Best part is the gondola ride up and down. Music is not bad. We tried this once and will never again. Even... More

Music, barbecue, and dancing at the top of the gondola. It's an experience that makes people who like that very happy, and you can't get it anywhere else. Pretty good food, very good musicians, OK atmosphere if you're inside; outside, you can look at the Yampa valley at night...worth a few bucks on its own!

We had a lot of fun at the Western BBQ. The gondola ride to the restaurant was fun (the view would have been even better if it wasn't snowing so hard!). The buffet provided a good variety of tasty options. The band was a lot of fun, and taught the whole family some new dances. The food was a little... More
