Cuisines: Contemporary, Healthy

Description: Sweet Pea is a quaint little restaurant located in Downtown Steamboat Springs on Yampa Street. We specialize in farm to table cuisine and support local farming efforts. In the summer, we have the best deck in all of Steamboat cozied up to the Yampa river with a very beautiful tree covering the deck. In the winter, we have inside seating and a cozy fire to keep you warm. Our menu speaks for itself but it is incredibly delicious and healthy. It is mostly all home made dishes that use ingredients from local and humane farms. We take reservations and are very family friendly. We have a happy hour from 3-6pm where we have $5 salads, $5 Cocktails, $5 off sandwiches, appetizers and tacos, $3 off wine and $2 off beer.

From the moment we walked in the staff was gracious and accommodating to our party of 8. Our waiter, Horatio, was as efficient as he was fun. We all enjoyed his willingness to banter with us and answer our questions. Drinks were well made and the beer was cold. Appetizers were just ok, I have to say. The Johnny cakes... More

Everything, and I mean everything is homemade!!! Pasta, ice cream.. All of it!!! This was a happenstance encounter during a hail storm in July. The first thing they brought us to our table was blankets to dry and take the chill. The menu was entertaining and diverse. We split the Artisan Pasta (Wild mushrooms, homemade papperdelle pasta, arugula, Parmesan, asparagus)... More

The café is along the Yampa River and is nice river side dining. The host and servers were well trained. The food was creative and excellent! This was our third visit to this restaurant and YES will be back. See you soon! Wonderful Food!

First the positives. It has a great overview of the Yampa. You can watch the rafters. It was not crowded at dinner time. Only about half full. Good space between tables. However, it took soooooooo long to get waters. It took over 20 minutes to get our drinks- just simple drinks. Only 3 beers all in bottles.

Lovely patio overlooking the Yampa River. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food was good--fresh ingredients and a relatively healthy lunch option.

A group of 8 of us ate at Sweet Pea and had a great time: good "farm soured" food well cooked. The only issues were due to service: we were 30 minutes late being seated for our reservations; a number of items on the menu were not available; there was a long wait between our salads and our man courses.... Enjoyed several meals here on holiday and enjoyed all around. The Trifecta Salad is a winning combination; Bobby's skills at the bar and genuine hospitality should be recognized. Added perks include: the best river front seats in town; live music heard at just the right volume from the neighboring restaurant; blankets offered on cooler evenings.

My sisters and I ate at the Sweet Pea Restaurant July 2nd for dinner based on recommendations plus we wanted to eat on the river. The riverside location is great and we chose this place primarily for that reason. Our drinks were good, no complaints there. We ordered 2 meals: the bison burger with fries and the 1/2 chicken. The... More

The french fries are amazing! The river runs by and provides a beautiful view from the outside seating. The salad trio provides for a wonderful sample of the yummy salads offered. The trout tacos were interesting and good dish. The server was extremely friendly and offered great suggestions about the menu.

My husband and I stopped here after a hike and enjoyed everything about it. We sat right next to the river. Lunch menu was brief but creative. My husband had trout tacos and I had a beet and goat cheese salad. We both cleaned our plates. The server was prompt and pleasant. My only critique is that I was hungry... More
