Book Store and Coffee Shop... they do both right

I am a coffee junkie. This place is head and shoulders above Starbucks. Do yourself a favor and stop for a coffee and buy a book while you are there. I love small business' and this is one of the best.

Excellent book collection- new and used. Coffee, espresso, tea, drinks while you read and relax. We wouldn't visit Steamboat without going to this place.

This is a great little cafe to grab a coffee or read the paper, surrounded by books. The staff are friendly and the coffee and tea are good. There are only three tables on the shop floor, but there's some extra seating upstairs. We had the most delicious banana blueberry muffins, fresh from the oven. Take headphones if you need... More

We'd stayed in Steamboat Springs back in 2001 on our first trip to Colorado and the coffee shop at Off the Beaten Path was one of the places we had breakfast on our first trip. Pleased its still open and doing well. (We were also huge fans of Mocha Mollys which sadly closed a few years back). Lovely book shop... More

Were thrilled to discover this great little store. Lots of carefully chosen items, as well as coffee and gifts and a place to sit and talk with a friend over coffee. Must go again.

Kudos to the owners/manager! A visit here is a must! I take the grandkids here for books every time I'm in Steamboat. And then I visit on my own when they are in school. For such a small storefront, they pack in a very nice selection of books and book related small gifts, taking care to organize the merchandise well.... More

It's the perfect size for Steamboat. They cram a lot of current and best-selling books into a small space, as well as cool gifts and trinkets for any member of your family. The have a lot of guest speakers come into town for book signings and talks, too. It's a great little community space. They offer coffees and teas, as... More

This place should not be listed under restaurants, this is not fair. This is a very nice book store and get soup and sandwiches while you look at books or use the Internet. This is a very comfy place during to have a bite. They do not claim to serve high cuisine but I always use this place for a little piece and quiet... The guy making the coffee was really good! We also ordered a blueberry scone (rich and buttery) and a cinnamon roll (not over sweet and very tasty). We browsed the books and gifts. It was a fun little place to relax.

A great place to while away some time having good coffee and food and browsing around the bookshop. You really get the feeling that you're supporting "bricks and mortar" book stores and for us it's the most atmospheric cafe in town
