We ordered a sandwich and a bag of chips...almost $12! WAY OVER-PRICED! 4 guys making sandwiches and our wait was over 20 minutes to get 1 wrapped sandwich!! At Subway, it would have taken less than 3 minutes with the amount of people in the place. I had to go in 2x to see why they hadn't called my name... More

The food is great. The service is that "we are just a bit too hip to be nice and offer any assistance", while you over pay for a good sandwich. So, although the best sandwiches in Steamboat, too much attitude and over priced.

This place has some of the best sandwiches going. They are all creative but awesome combinations making it hard to choose. Not sure of the name of my lunch with Ham and avocado, but it was awesome. They also had some house made "slim Jim's" that are a must! Think no further. Go!

A great place for a sandwich in steamboat. Showed up with two minutes to close and staff was super friendly and prompt. Got the emerald sandwich on a French baguette. Sandwich tasted great and had good ingredient ratios with plenty of meat. Bread tasted fresh despite being the end of the day. Also sandwich was not sloppy so it would... More

This small shop has a fantastic selection of unique sandwiches and food. The name delicatessen is misleading as it is not like a deli as I know them. The service is also very friendly. I will return to eat here.

My family stopped in at Backcountry for lunch on a hot day, beating the lunch crowd by 5 minutes. My three companions really enjoyed their sandwiches, which had generous servings of meat, turkey, etc. Even though I ordered only a half-sandwich for my 6 year old, he was still given a generous full portion of a corned beef sandwich. Negatives:... More

How does a mountain deli get five stars? It seems a bit over the top. But it's not. Thus is my favorite deli - ANYWHERE! Done believe me? Come try the "pilgrim", "godfather", or "angler" and you'll understand. Take them to go and hike a nearby peak for a bucket list experience!

Our sandwiches were delicious! I got the Bushwacker - curry chicken salad with almonds and apples. My husband got the Pilgrim - turkey with cranberry chutney. The bread was very soft and fresh. I thought it was a fair price for the amount of food.

Creative menu, and they are always willing to change it up for whatever you need. Fast service, reasonably priced - more than Subway, but then again, it is more than a Subway.
