Best sandwiches in Steamboat

Always go there for sandwiches as they are fresh and appetizing. Cannot do any better...The only thing I disliked is how long you have to wait in line until it is your turn...

One of the "locals" on the pubic bus told us about this place as we were headed to town. So glad we followed her advice. There were four of us and we all enjoyed our sandwich. The service was very friendly and prompt. I don't think it took that long to get us our meals. I wouldn't say that it... More

We were going up to Steamboat Lake and wanted some sandwiches to take with us. We checked TA and Backcountry was highly rated, and they were also #1 in 2014 Best of Steamboat, so we gave them a try. Both of our sandwiches were very good. They offer a nice variety of sams with unique and tasty add-ons.

We ordered a sandwich and a bag of chips...almost $12! WAY OVER-PRICED! 4 guys making sandwiches and our wait was over 20 minutes to get 1 wrapped sandwich!! At Subway, it would have taken less than 3 minutes with the amount of people in the place. I had to go in 2x to see why they hadn't called my name... More

The food is great. The service is that "we are just a bit too hip to be nice and offer any assistance", while you over pay for a good sandwich. So, although the best sandwiches in Steamboat, too much attitude and over priced.

This place has some of the best sandwiches going. They are all creative but awesome combinations making it hard to choose. Not sure of the name of my lunch with Ham and avocado, but it was awesome. They also had some house made "slim Jim's" that are a must! Think no further. Go!

A great place for a sandwich in steamboat. Showed up with two minutes to close and staff was super friendly and prompt. Got the emerald sandwich on a French baguette. Sandwich tasted great and had good ingredient ratios with plenty of meat. Bread tasted fresh despite being the end of the day. Also sandwich was not sloppy so it would... More

This small shop has a fantastic selection of unique sandwiches and food. The name delicatessen is misleading as it is not like a deli as I know them. The service is also very friendly. I will return to eat here.

My family stopped in at Backcountry for lunch on a hot day, beating the lunch crowd by 5 minutes. My three companions really enjoyed their sandwiches, which had generous servings of meat, turkey, etc. Even though I ordered only a half-sandwich for my 6 year old, he was still given a generous full portion of a corned beef sandwich. Negatives:... More
