Got into town early one trip and wanted a sandwich, had seen Backcountry many times and decided would give it a try. Wow! Feel bad for not going sooner. Pilgrim is my new favorite. Need to try the breakfast sandwiches but imagine they are as good as the rest. Staff if friendly and helpful. Great place.

Always try to make time to stop when in town. Always fresh food and friendly service. Prices seem to have gone up, however, but the portions haven't.

If you are looking for a sandwich in Steamboat, this is the place. We found this hidden gem just walking around the town. It was filled with locals having a fine sandwich. The choices are numerous. The counterman was engaged and knew what he was doing. He cared about the product and that you got what you wanted. The ingredients... More

When we are in Steamboat in the summer we literally have lunch here every day. There are so many choices and everything is fresh and well prepared.

Always go there for sandwiches as they are fresh and appetizing. Cannot do any better...The only thing I disliked is how long you have to wait in line until it is your turn...

One of the "locals" on the pubic bus told us about this place as we were headed to town. So glad we followed her advice. There were four of us and we all enjoyed our sandwich. The service was very friendly and prompt. I don't think it took that long to get us our meals. I wouldn't say that it... More

We were going up to Steamboat Lake and wanted some sandwiches to take with us. We checked TA and Backcountry was highly rated, and they were also #1 in 2014 Best of Steamboat, so we gave them a try. Both of our sandwiches were very good. They offer a nice variety of sams with unique and tasty add-ons.

We ordered a sandwich and a bag of chips...almost $12! WAY OVER-PRICED! 4 guys making sandwiches and our wait was over 20 minutes to get 1 wrapped sandwich!! At Subway, it would have taken less than 3 minutes with the amount of people in the place. I had to go in 2x to see why they hadn't called my name... More
