My family stopped in at Backcountry for lunch on a hot day, beating the lunch crowd by 5 minutes. My three companions really enjoyed their sandwiches, which had generous servings of meat, turkey, etc. Even though I ordered only a half-sandwich for my 6 year old, he was still given a generous full portion of a corned beef sandwich. Negatives:... More

How does a mountain deli get five stars? It seems a bit over the top. But it's not. Thus is my favorite deli - ANYWHERE! Done believe me? Come try the "pilgrim", "godfather", or "angler" and you'll understand. Take them to go and hike a nearby peak for a bucket list experience!

Our sandwiches were delicious! I got the Bushwacker - curry chicken salad with almonds and apples. My husband got the Pilgrim - turkey with cranberry chutney. The bread was very soft and fresh. I thought it was a fair price for the amount of food.

Creative menu, and they are always willing to change it up for whatever you need. Fast service, reasonably priced - more than Subway, but then again, it is more than a Subway.

I was shocked at how much they were able to put on my sandwich. Totally worth the price. It is much better than other sandwich places I have eaten. I would recommend it to all my friends

We stopped in Steamboat Springs en route to Jackson WY and looked specifically for this deli having heard great things. Like others have said, their sandwiches are a little pricey but soooo delicious! The ingredients are as fresh as you can get as is the bread and you can get whatever you want in your sandwich. My husband had an... More

we ordered three diff sandwiches: a basic vege , a toasted eggplant vege, and a turkey. All were excellent. The basic vege and turkey were HUGE. All pricey, $8-10 without chips, but fresh and delicious.

Yum! I love backcountry sandwiches. Always have. Great atmosphere and the guys that work there are all nice, helpful and genuinely happy to be there. Go there! (Bring a ton of cash / like anyplace in Steamboat...)

This used to be our favorite deli in SS. Not any more. We ordered two sandwiches and some homemade slaw and it cost $26!. The slaw was flavorless, except for the shredded broccoli (yuck). My turkey sandwich was pretty good but the Italian sandwich was a greasy, microwaved, gelatinous mess. They forgot to put on lettuce and tomatoes on both... More
