Gwynn's High Alpine restaurant is technically two restaurants, a upscale sit-down with waiter service, and a more conventional on mountain cafeteria style restaurant. The later is more economic than the upscale restaurant, with a different menu. The food at the sit-down restaurant is easily the best on the mountain, though devoting the time it takes to a rather elaborate meal... More

Gwyn has owned this place for what seems like "forever" but he's still there, treading the boards and keeping his watchful eye on the service. Skiers flock to this place because it has the best food and the best ambiance on the mountain.

We have been going to High Alpine for years and the food is always excellent! The same people have run the restaurant for as long as I remember and they have never slacked on quality. High Alpine has plenty of seating, so it a great meeting spot for friends and families. With Alpine Springs below and High Alpine above, all... More

Wow! On mountain table service... say it isn't so? Make a reservation for this place and you will not be disappointed. Food is fabulous and service is as good as you get. Staff are knowledge, friendly and make your experience all the better. Great wine menu as well! Enjoy!!!!!!

This restaurant is so good because the employees have been there so long. They know how to beat out the Skico run restaurants which have taken over every other restaurant on the mountain. Gwynn out works and out manages Skico. They are working on their third generation of family. Gwynn and George treat their employees as family too. Yesterday I... More

We came for a late breakfast (10am) and enjoyed a relatively quiet time between the normal breakfast and lunch crowds during the busiest part of the year (Christmas holidays). Menu had multiple options for eggs, meat, or vegetarian items. We chose two of the specials of the day, blueberry pancakes and eggs benedict with trout. Both were perfectly done and... More

The lines moved quickly. The rooms were broken up into different cozy levels so it doesn't feel like a mass dinning hall. It was a descent lunch fair with some healthier choices as well as deeply satisfying burgers and brats.

Whether you're looking for a spot for breakfast or lunch on the mountain or simply a beverage while you take a break in between runs, Gwynn's is the place to go! The food is the best, the views are awesome and the people couldn't be friendlier! My favorites are the soups & salads but there is something for every taste.... More

I treated myself to a fine lunch of trout, salad, soup and wine at Gwyn's. This is a white table cloth, art on the walls, reservations often needed, but not on my visit, kind of place. Expect to pay for the experience, and enjoy sitting among the rich and powerful guests and regulars. My trout was flawlessly filleted, beautiful pink in... More

Gwynn's was our favorite place to eat while skiing at Snowmass. We were delighted about how good the food was, the variety of fresh and delicious options and how friendly and accommodating the staff were! It's really a change from what we are used to from on-slope options at other ski resorts.
