Very interesting joint, many antiques and stuffed animals. The chicken pot pie was divine would certainly eat here again.

The service and food were great. They have very quick service as they are used to serving patrons from the train who have limited time. The inside is packed with all sorts of "stuff" (best way to describe it!) to look at. I have recommended this establishment to friends in the past when they are going to visit Silverton and... More

My extended family and I recently took a trip to the area. We rode the Durango/Silverton train one day. At the recommendation of the conductor, we tried out Handlebars for lunch. Though there were 5 adults + 2 small kids and we arrived with the rest of the train crowd, we were seated immediately. The restaurant itself is a hoot.... More

We ate lunch here after getting off the train. A few blocks walk but worth it. It was already crowded - and we were the first train - and we had to wait maybe 10 minutes. We had green chile hamburgers which were thick and juicy. Service was quick but otherwise not very attentive. The tables are closely packed and... More

Our first stop off the Silverton train was lunch at Handlebars. There were people waiting to get in, but the host took our name and promised a 20 minute wait. We didn't have to wait long at all. We got in, got seated, and ordered our food which arrived fairly quickly. Everything was very good. The waiter was excellent. There... More

Popular place for the tourist. Good pub food at ok prices. Staff was friendly and fast. Lots of museum type of knick-knacks mounted to the wall. Can get crowded at lunch and dinner time, a wait is not unusual.

Loved everything we ate at Handlebars... pan fried trout, chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, honey dipped fried chicken (best ever), veal parmesan (awesome), prime rib (huge portion), bbq ribs- soooo good! We liked it so much we ate here 2 nights. Portions are large. Salads were fresh. Cocktails generous. Would recommend. One thing- for groups of 6 or more... More

Yes, there are plenty of animal heads hanging from the walls and a gift shop as you come in. It's a real touristy place. Happily thought, the sandwiches are the real deal on whole wheat (the real kind) and rye with fresh lettuce and enough to keep us going for the afternoon. This is a family run concern with the kids... We both ordered the Handlebar burger which is a half pound of beef. The burgers are cooked on a flame not fried. The vegetables were served on the side. This was one of the best burgers I have eated at a restaurant and as good as you can cook at home. You will need a lot of napkins as they... More
