One thing that never seems to change about Silverton; the food is always just OK. It is like a tourist trap. The train comes in, unloads, and everyone heads for the nearest saloon for a burger and a beer. The town doesn't really have anything that even comes close to "fine" dining as nearly as we can tell. Teller House... More

We were walk-in 10 people strong and they sat us immediately. Service was a little slow, but the place was packed.

The service at Teller was very attentive. Within a minute of taking my seat I had a menu and was asked if I wanted a drink. My beer arrived promptly. I placed my order and while waiting got into conversation with other customers. I found that the atmosphere encouraged people to greet each other, even if strangers. Maybe it was... More

The wait staff raved about the restaurant having from scratch food. Maybe they should use canned food instead. There were no spices, the food was very bland. Such a disappointment. Service was extremely slow. Waiter referred to a Mexican beer of XX instead of Dos Equis.

We went here for dinner one night and they were very short staffed. Had to wait a long time for menus/waitress. The food arrived fairly quickly and was served hot. Understand restaurant business is tough but it would have been nice if mgmt, would have had a back up plan to bring staff in when some didn't show up for... More

My family and I drove up from Durango on a quiet Monday evening and stopped in for dinner while on vacation. The waitress was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. I have traveled across 48 states and have eaten many authentic Mexican meals, but by far this Mexican dinner is the best I have ever had! The quality of... More

The food is comparable to a taco bell in quality. Service was quick but waitress couldn't answer basic questions about menu items. Daughters ground meat tostada came out with pink ground meat! Gross! Its edible but I like quality food. Husbands side salad came out with store bought croutons and what looked like kraft italian dressing. I would expect more... More

Departed train and went in search of lunch. Very busy and walked a ways from the train and wandered into the Teller house restaurant. Not a large place and not a vast menu but ordered the pozole soup and my husband ordered the chicken taco salad and both were very good. Would recommend for a nice meal.

We found this place on our last trip to Silverton. We wanted a salad and went there on a recommendation. It was incredible. We had the walnut salad one night and the cobb salad the next. They were both excellent. And the beer was nice and cold.

On main street a bit up the way from the train depot. This is well worth a stop to get a great meal! We recently had lunch there and the sandwiches we had were way above average!! We also tried some of the deserts they had and they too were really really great. Just note that they are closed on... More
