Surrounded by staves of ancient and lordly skis from the past days of skiny ski glory resides the Avalanche Cafe. I can't sufficintly extoll the virtues of the coffee, the breakfast burritos, the variety of lunchable (including gluten free options) let alone their beer. Oh the heavenly beer. After a day of snorkling around in the deep snows of Silverton,... More

We stopped for lunch and ordered the Ham and Brie sandwich and the Turkey sandwich, exchanging the halves. The food was fresh and delightful. We did not sample the beer (Avalanche is a microbrewery). There is not a lot of seating at tables. There is a bar. And there is a clean restroom. A very nice and inexpensive lunch in... More

We just couldn't believe it when we seen this little place at the last minute before we took a backpacking trip into the wilderness. The micro brews were superb and it was a hock but, I really didn't expect this little place to have the tasty dishes that we ate. Very happy we found you!

One of the best things to do in this country is to take the train from Durango. It is amazing they got the tracks in place and keep them in place! But, at the turnaround we had time to grab lunch and the Avalanche was not far away. And not as crowded as some. Great spot to sit down, put... More

I stopped in 2 times here while in the area 4 wheeling. First was for coffee and Internet use. The coffee was great and the Internet fast. I stopped for dinner and had pizza and beer. The micro-brew was very good and the pizza was the way I like it- thin crust and good quality ingredients. The pepperoni was super... More

The coffee is always great and the breakfast is pretty good too. They now have alcoholic drinks so if you want to start your day with shot in your coffee, you can do that too!!!!

Stopped for lunch BECAUSE IT WAS DOG FRIENDLY (other restaurants take note). We both had the white bean chicken chili which was excellent, served with a very moist and tasty piece of cornbread on the side. They didn't hesitate when I asked for a beer sample before ordering. Thought it was VERY reasonable considering it's a tourist area. Lunch for... More

Writing an unfavorable review is not what I like to do. However after reading several comments on the service aspect I decided to add mine as well. First of all it was one of the best lattes I have had in awhile. Too bad it was made and presented in such a gruff manner. I was also told in a... More

Had a delicious veggie wrap with blk beans, avocado, roasted peppers, cheese, greens and a cilantro lime dressing. Fun music playing that adds to the fun vibe. Lots of coffee selections sorry I didn't have the room in my belly. Interesting menu not just ur run of the mill sandwiches. Only negative would b they were a bit slow.
