This restaurant is at the Grand Imperial Hotel which is over a century old. It's a Victorian building with its usual bells and whistles. The Piano player who was belting out classics and rhymes was easily the best thing about the restaurant. There was no host to greet us, and we ended up asking a waitress for seating place after... We ran in here for a bite to eat after taking the trip up from Durango on the train. Lunch was reasonably priced, service was good and listening to the piano player was quite a treat.

As we were riding the train to Silverton, we questioned people about a place to eat and they directed us to Grumpy's , which is in the Grand Imperial Hotel. When you get off the train, just walk straight two blocks and you will find it. We noticed it was quaintly decorated in the Victorian period, the large bar was... More

May not be the best place to eat in Silverton. We don't know. We've only eaten here the three times we've been to this wonderful little community! We love the quaintness and the history this place exudes! Fun place, yummy buffalo burgers, and great old fashion piano playin' !!!

Our trip on the Durango & Silverton railroad was topped off by a lunch at Grumpy's. Atmosphere could not be beat! Good food & an old piano. The young lady was playing honky tonk the whole time we were there. Such a great place that I had to have their t-shirt to go.

Very average food. If you have to visit an old west saloon-type place with a piano player, so here for the $5.50 beer, but eat somewhere else (I recommend Avalanche brewing). Really tasteless salad, above average burger at tourist prices--not a good deal.

Grumpy's had a nice menu and lots of good drinks. I had the extra meaty chili with cheese and onions and the wife had a huge taco salad. The Iced tea and Mexican Logger was good too. We were entertained the entire lunch by a terrific pianist, Lacy Black. It was worth the price and a good value.

During our time in Silverton, we HAD to have lunch at Grumpy's. The food was very good, the service excellent and the young girl playing the piano, Lacey Black, is not to be missed - my wife even took a short video of her. Luckily, I spied a Grumpy's T-shirt on sale, and I couldn't leave without one. Silverton is... More

The train brings in the customers but the waitress I had was not ready. I had to ask for someone to bring her to my table (first one there) and served last. Then I had to ask her for more tea. And, of course, I had to find her for my ticket. Maybe she was given too many tables. The... More

Walk into the late 1800's on original wood floors and hear talented piano player setting the mood for fun! Decor authentic. Huge beautiful carved wooden bar. We had homemade potato soup that was warm, creamy, and seasoned well. Also had hot sandwich with very fresh ingredients. Generous portions and friendly servers. We sat by piano player and found she has... More
