Service lived up to its name.

The grumpy waitress took our drink orders and tried to hurry food orders. They wanted us out so the could clear the table for train patron arriving soon. Dander up we ordered a wine to nurse. Food was poor. Tasteless fries, overcooked buffalo burger (no how do you want it?) and bland soup. It... read more

I was attracted because of the honky Tonk music we hear coming outside, being played by Linda Black. She even had CDs for sale. I had the turkey Reuben sandwich and it was the freshest and best taste I've ever had, and the potatoe salad was so fluffy and good, I also had a cup of French onion soup which... More

We were stopping in Silverton for lunch while driving from Durango to Ouray, Grumpy's sounded pretty good from the reviews. Got here right with a bunch of folks from the train. Amazingly, this place handled it all very well, food was good, service was friendly and fast. And Lacy on the piano is not to be missed, she can play... More

Silverton, in the middle of nowhere, was once a thriving silver mining town (silver by the ton), we reached it by the single track train that runs from Durango and by the time we got there we were ready for food and lots of it and we found it at Grumpy's. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was even... More

Rode the D&S Knight Sky to Silverton, 8am train, so we arrived around lunch. Looking for a taste in history, We had planned to check-out Grumpy's. Opened the door, was met by the bound of Alexander's Ragtime Band played by a Happy young lady with a big welcoming smile. Seconds later another smiling face seated us and took our orders,... More

'us seniors descended in Silverton for lunch and the railroad tour. Oh no, there was a major rock slide and we were unable to do the tour. However, we had a great time at Grumpy's, teasing the waitress and enjoying ourselves. The food was excellent even though we were not that hungry. It was early lunch time. My husband and... More

Enjoyed the music real honky Tonk piano playing. Young women dressed in the era of the 1800's and the decor the real thing. Food was good too.

We'd looked at several lunch options in Silverton in planning our railroad-ride day. While the Shady Lady advertises extensively, and the pink-painted barbecue place has been on the food channel, our porter/guide advised against both. We were told they'd try to hustle us into the Shady Lady rather assertively and that the pink place was a second location, not the... More

My family and I had lunch after arriving on the train from Durango. It was the perfect place to sit and relax while enjoying a simple, yet amazing lunch. I had a veggie burger which sometimes can be very boring but it was honestly one of the best ones I've ever had. The service was excellent and we were all... More

On 8/23/14 While on a bus tour 6 of us decided on Grump's as the place to eat. Jennifer, our waitress was pleasant, efficient, and had a great personality. Service was fast and food was plentiful, and very good. Had a great piano player, good music, not to loud. If I return this will be the place to eat. Will... More
