Unexpectedly good food in a small mountain town!

We drove up to Silverton one day to shop and visit the mine so we ate at Grumpy's, expecting to eat at the Bear Cafe the following day when we rode the train. Our group had burgers and chicken sandwiches which were all quite good. My one complaint is that the chicken didn't taste "grilled" and... read more

Went to Grumpy's Saloon after filming a music video. To make it short n sweet, someone, most likely a staff member, stole a $180 vape mod right off our table as we went outside for 3 minutes to greet a friend as they arrived. I went back inside and poof it was gone, along with the staff..A shift change had... More

My husband and I ate here twice with friends. We were in town and heard it was a good place to eat, so we checked it out. First, Breakfast. Their breakfast is good and there is a good selection too. The bacon was amazing and tasted fresh. Their hash browns had pepper on it but not to much that it... More

We took the Durango & Silverton Train to Silverton, Co which was great. We had a great hostess (Heather) who was knowledgeable, friendly and full of energy. We went to Grumpys and had the prime rib sandwich which my husband and I had and it was wonderful. We brought Lacey BLACK cd who played the piano (ragtime music). She was... More

We love to go on Mexican Buffet Night. We have eaten there several times, and enjoy the food and the staff. Grandma used to be a cook at the Grand Imperial long ago.

A cozy retreat after a hard day of great skiing at the Silverton Mountain. Good service, cold beer and nice atmosphere. Have to visit again in the summer time...

The grumpy waitress took our drink orders and tried to hurry food orders. They wanted us out so the could clear the table for train patron arriving soon. Dander up we ordered a wine to nurse. Food was poor. Tasteless fries, overcooked buffalo burger (no how do you want it?) and bland soup. It was a dark and snowy day... More

I was attracted because of the honky Tonk music we hear coming outside, being played by Linda Black. She even had CDs for sale. I had the turkey Reuben sandwich and it was the freshest and best taste I've ever had, and the potatoe salad was so fluffy and good, I also had a cup of French onion soup which... More

We were stopping in Silverton for lunch while driving from Durango to Ouray, Grumpy's sounded pretty good from the reviews. Got here right with a bunch of folks from the train. Amazingly, this place handled it all very well, food was good, service was friendly and fast. And Lacy on the piano is not to be missed, she can play... More

Silverton, in the middle of nowhere, was once a thriving silver mining town (silver by the ton), we reached it by the single track train that runs from Durango and by the time we got there we were ready for food and lots of it and we found it at Grumpy's. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was even... More
