Jeff Schweitzer, the friendly and capable chef directed me to have the cajun duck, which is one of their signature dishes -- delicious. My husband had grilled halibut over a spicy roast corn/white bean succotash, again fresh and delicious. The two other couples we were there with also loved their meals. Everything was great, especially the duck spring rolls. The owner/chef circulated among the guests and made everyone feel welcome. Come hungry, because the portions are more than ample. Try to get a table in the funky patio out back. more

This place was awful. I would not recommend unless you want overrpriced, terrible food with very bad service. It was crowded, server was in casual clothes that wreaked of cigarettes. Food was barely edible and much too expensive for the overall expereince. icky. more

On our trip to Salida, my wife and I wanted to have at least one night with a romantic dinner. Based on the recommendations of this site we chose Laughing Ladies. This is a really great little restaurant! It is small so don't expect a huge place. I went on a Friday evening and was lucky to get in without a reservation. I think in high tourist season a reservation or call ahead is recommended. The staff are attentive and it has a nice ambiance. Not overdone but nice enough you... more

We went to Salida for an artist conference July 2008. Decided to stay in town an extra night and decided to dine at Laughing Ladies. Amazing food, great service. more

This is truly one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. The service was great and the food excellent. I wish Salida wasn't so far from Denver!! I love the town of Salida and Laughing Ladies Restaurant is one of the reasons. Yummy! more

Let's just say that I have been begging my boyfriend to take me for a while now. I felt that it was such a well loved restaurant for the locals then why not be loved by me too. We recently stayed in Salida for three days. The Laughing Ladies Restaurant was by far the best restaurant in town. The food was impeccable, service was great! Would highly recommend! more
