We ate here for lunch since it was close to Salida Fabric Festival. It wasn't too crowded. I had the chocolate shake, which was very good. More ice cream flavor than a Hershey's syrup flavor. I had the Italian Sausage while my wife had a sub. We both enjoyed our sandwiches, they were made as we ordered them so four... More

This diner has the feeling of an old fashioned ice cream parlor but with diner type of food. Homemade rye bread made right there! Gyros was excellent but the sauce could be a bit more refined but other than that, great place to eat and right across from the main park in downtown Salida!

We were looking for a casual lunch and decided to try Mama D’s. The bright and busy deli was turning out lots of take out and in house orders. A Polish hot dog with sauerkraut sounded like as much as my wife and I needed for lunch, so we picked up a couple of these and soft drinks. The hot... More

Bought sandwiches and had lunch at a rest area down the road a couple hours. Sandwiches were really good. The woman behind the counter talked up the baked goods (brownies), but they were okay. Lunch here helped us to meet our goal of avoiding all chain-restaurants

I was here maybe 6 years ago and got soft-serve. Based on the fond memories, we made a beeline for it after a backpacking trip. This time I got a Chicago dog and it was great. Since it was mid-afternoon, there was no line and our food was ready in a flash. The bun was a little on the dry... More

If you grew up in the Chicagoland area, you had access to the best hot dogs in the world. So I was skeptical when I saw this place advertising "Chicago hot dogs." I tried them and admit I'm impressed. The poppy-seeded soft buns, the sport peppers, the lack of ketchup and of course the dog. Great stuff! The atmosphere is... More

Great place for a sub, or normal food if that's what you're looking for. It's not the fanciest place on the planet and it's not really trying to "appeal" to any certain crowd. If you're in to going to places to seen, This isn't the place for you. If you're hungry, it's a solid bet.

We go to this restaurant from time to time. They serve excellent sandwiches and other treats. My favorites are the Italian Beef and Meatball sandwiches, just two of a larger number of items to choose from. Treats are led by cookies and soft ice cream.

When we got our food my husbands sandwich had a hair in it we took it back up to counter which was the owner who had made it and showed him the hair and he blamed us saying we put it there!!!
