This is not your typical Tex-Mex fare. Food is interesting, tasty, served quickly and in an inviting environment. The fish tacos were delicious and The serving size was just right. We went to this restaurant for the view but the food was really the star. The views of the river are good but not as good as other restaurants in... More

Stumbled upon Salida and this restaurant when we needed a place to eat coming from Mt. Princeton Hot Spring Resort... we ate there 2 nights in a row because the view over the river of crazy kids in kayaks and rafts was entertaining. The beer was cold, and the service was great. Standard American fare done very well. We had... More

Food and beer was good too. Location can't be beat! Wait for a table overlooking the river to maximize your experience.

Our group of 20 showed up hungry and thirsty and we were treated to friendly smiles and expedient service. We were seated quickly and all the meals were excellent. I am from Texas, a native of Austin, and these were some of the best jalapeno poppers I've ever had and the group agreed. The view of the river and mountains... More

As mentioned in all the previous reviews, the location right on the river is a big plus for this place. The wait on a Thursday evening for a table outside was only about 15 minutes, and they text you when your table is ready so you are free to talk around. Our server wasn't great, but she got the job... More

I can't understand the great reviews of this restaurant. The food was fair at best - and if you are from TX, let me suggest you DO NOT try the jalapeño poppers - all cream cheese and hardly and pepper. The service was horrible and my husband actually found hair in the condiments we were served. Yuck!

We went to the Boathouse twice while we were vacationing in Salida. Both times I didn't really care for the food I got. The first time I got the chipotle chicken burrito, and there was maybe 3 pieces of chicken in it, but it was stuffed full of black beans and rice. My boyfriend just had a burger and fries,... More

We really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, very casual on the Arkansas river. Like the open air doors. Our server was really good and attentive. The food was okay, it was a little pricey. We did not care for the local beer,it was real hoppy tasting. But overall it was okay.

Our Wilderness Aware Rafting guide, Justin, recommended this restaurant to us. We were travelling through town on our way to New Mexico. We sat on the patio and had a wonderful view of the river. The food was delicious - we started out with the queso and chips. Being from Texas, it's hard to offer good Tex-Mex queso outside the... More

This is yet another cool restaurant in Salida, with a fun atmosphere and decorations. Garage door 'windows' open up to great views of kayaks, and tubing on the Arkansas River. Good food, average prices for Salida ~$15 entree. Kids menu was decent/ typical choices. Although, my 8 yr old had some of the best looking chicken strips I've seen in... More
