Big, Good Burger - Burp

We stopped at this wonderful old hotel for lunch. It was a great day with hummingbirds flitting outside the windows of as we had lunch. Lunch is served in the bar area which is by the pool. We both had the Coal Basin Burger which has besides the normal hamburger patty and bun, smoked pork... read more

This inn was built by the industrial baron, Osgood, for the single men that worked the coke mine. Wonderful old furnishings and meals are very good. It was actually his 2nd wife who wanted better living conditions for the men and families. Her picture hangs in the lobby. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

Fine menu with specials. Very good wine list with more than average by the glass. Bar area can be a little loud; the bar is a favorite with locals.

One of the best burgers.....grass fed beef is the reason. Enjoy your food in the bar and enjoy the views and learn a little Inn history from the wait staff & bartenders. Check out the pool and outside event area where many wedding ceremonies take. place

I was taken here for a birthday lunch by a friend. I ordered the salmon wrap which was $14.95. When lunch was served there was really no salmon in the wrap. I asked the waitress about this and she said 1 other person had mentioned this. She said she had spoken to the kitchen but they didn't listen to her.... More

The new dining room menu has truly gluten free items. We questioned the staff on how the items were prepared to find out that they take every precaution to avoid cross contamination. To be truly gluten free is not easy to accomplish in a commercial kitchen. Everything was prepared to near perfection and we had a wonderful evening. Be prepared... More

On our recent trip back to Denver from Ouray, we were ready for lunch. My son-in-law remembered hearing about The Red Stone Inn as a good place to stop so we did. What a pleasant surprise to find such a resort like hotel with attached restaurant in this small Colorado town! The food was delicious and the atmosphere lively. I... More

The food here was great. We were very surprised, did not expect much, but the service was great and the food was good. The prices were reasonable, it was also an interesting hotel. Also historic, again will not ruin the history - but do visit!

For the price, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The rooms seem to be neglected and there is no A/C and it was very warm. The area is pretty and the exterior of the hotel is charming.

Built by a coal mine Baron, this hotel-inn, offers some good amenities. Built around 1900, this hotel has some lovely ambiance. The staff in friendly and accomodating, the rooms are large (with flat screen TV) there is an excellent restaurant, and there is a horse riding stable acroos the street. There is a guided tour of a mansion (they call... More
