I grew up eating both my mother's and my grandmother's authentic Spanish/Mexican food, and I am very selective about what restaurants have to offer in this area. Overall, I have found it to be very difficult to find decent food of this type wherever I travel. I have to say, though, that Papa Jose's on Union Avenue is a nice,... More

Went out for an evening and had the opportunity to eat at Papa Jose's and we enjoyed their food. Every time we have gone the restaurant fills up with customers. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. Certainly would recommend the biscochitos.

Recently tried Papa Joses for dinner based off reviews on trip advisor. Found the food very bland and tasted pre made. The Chili relleno appeared to be microwaved and processed, a real disappointment . The sauces were bland and lacked that flare you'd expect from a place that is authentic. Don't believe we'll be back with so many other choices... More

Very authentic, great price, hometown, small atmosphere. The meat, seasoning, and deep fried tacos were exceptional!

Best Mexican restaurant in Pueblo! Best prices. We eat here every time we visit Pueblo. Grandkids love it. Great antique shops very close by.

A local recommended this restaurant. When we walked the three blocks from the Riverwalk to the restaurant, it was filled with locals! It's in the Historic District. Very low key but great family atmosphere. My husband's margarita was fabulous, his dinner was fabulous and my chicken quesadilla was great. The sopapillas were the best we've ever had - light skinned... More

We Puebloans all have our favorite "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurants, but they may be a bit too rough around the edges for visitors - so after I'd received a gift certificate to try out Papa Jose's on Union Avenue, I was very impressed! It's in the Historic Union Avenue District - which has lots of boutiques and near... More
