Very authentic, great price, hometown, small atmosphere. The meat, seasoning, and deep fried tacos were exceptional!

Best Mexican restaurant in Pueblo! Best prices. We eat here every time we visit Pueblo. Grandkids love it. Great antique shops very close by.

A local recommended this restaurant. When we walked the three blocks from the Riverwalk to the restaurant, it was filled with locals! It's in the Historic District. Very low key but great family atmosphere. My husband's margarita was fabulous, his dinner was fabulous and my chicken quesadilla was great. The sopapillas were the best we've ever had - light skinned... More

We Puebloans all have our favorite "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurants, but they may be a bit too rough around the edges for visitors - so after I'd received a gift certificate to try out Papa Jose's on Union Avenue, I was very impressed! It's in the Historic Union Avenue District - which has lots of boutiques and near... More

House margarita was flavorless, nachos were terrible, and the service was sorely lacking. Skip this restaurant, Pueblo is full of great Mexican food places, but this isn't one of them.

Though Pueblo is supposed to be known for Mexican food, which stands to reason since our population is 50% Hispanic, I've been really disappointed in many of the Mexican restaurants here. Papa Jose's isn't the best I've ever had, but I think it's one of the better places in Pueblo. Good friendly service, and a great location on Historic Union... More

My brother-in-law who lives in Pueblo, raved about this place and insisted we have dinner there when we visited him in Pueblo a couple of weeks ago. While my husband didn't mind it too much, I thought the food was awful. The chili verde tasted like flour soup, and the tortilla chips were hard as rocks and the tostadas were... More
