We were forced to spend the night in the town of Parachute because all the hotel rooms were sold out in Grand Junction. So as we are driving around in search of a restaurant other than Wendy's, the El Tapatio stood out and caught our attention. The food was excellent! We had tacos and green chili burritos, and they were... More

We live in Silt Colorado and my sister in law just bought a second home in Battlement Mesa. We love this place, authentic food, great humble service and great atmosphere. We have been there about 5 times since April and we are never disappointed. Who would know there is such a gem right off the highway!!!

The food is okay. A big menu, but nothing that sets it apart from other Mexican restaurants you've been too. But it's quite pricey. I guess they can get away with it when the local options are limited.

We checked out El Tapatio on the advice of the front desk clerk at our hotel. Worth the walk! We enjoyed a small town eatery, with food that was tasty and (as far as I can tell) authentic. My daughter's grilled cheese sandwhich was a bit skimpy, and neither of the adult entrees were overly generous, but the service was... More

This is one of the best and most authentic Mexican restaurants I have been to. One of the better places to eat in Parachute.

Were in the area for 2 weeks and good food.. but same food almost doubles the price at night so we elected to eat elsewhere due to the price change. Great drinks and the food is wonderful but if I were the management I'd have a happy medium of prices. You feel great eating there and spending about $35 for... More

Ate there twice because we loved the food. First visit was lunch and had drinks and a large meal. Went back a day later at night, had the same meal because we loved it and the dinner prices for the same things was doubled! Different menu... So eat during the day from the lunch menu. Again great food but not... More

Got to cross the railroad tracks to find this place but there is enough tire tracks leading to the front door to know this is a local favorite. The lunch crowd get there promptly at noon. The salsa is great and food is hot and savory.

I went here after reading reviews and it was great. The coleslaw that was served with the chips was delicious. I got the platter with a chicken mole enchilada and carne asada. The enchilada was yummy and I loved the rice. The carne asada was very flavorful and the guacamole yummy too. I had their fall special margarita that had... More
