Kathy and Charlie, closed this great restaurant on October 31st (we were there). They had problems with the landlord. This may have been the best food available in Pagosa at a reasonable price..

My wife and I were staying in Pagosa Springs for the night while enroute to Durango to meet family. The owner of the Alpine Inn where we were staying recommended "A Chivalrous Shark" to us after we mentioned that we like seafood. What a surprise when we entered and found a little bit of the Florida Keys and cajun country... More

Found this place on TripAdvisor. Had to see if all we read was true. It was! Delicious food, plenty of it, and friendly owners and staff. Very reasonably priced. Loved the atmosphere, thought we were back on Staniel Cay! Wanted to get out my sunglasses and my swim suit on an October day in Colorado!

When dining in Pagosa Springs this is the place to go to if you are craving fresh seafood. Their class were prepared well with a flavor reminiscent of the Mississippi delta. The specials are extremely fresh and we're prepared to perfection. They were very helpful and inviting in assistance with the menu. Overall the food is well worth the stop!

Wonderful seafood restaurant in a landlocked state, The Chivalrous Shark has a devoted following of local traffic who love being served and entertained by Cathy while being fed by Charlie the wonderful cook! Don't miss the story of the restaurant's name!

Thanks to TA and the local Dining Guide for leading us to this wacky and delicious place for dinner. We sat outside and watched night fall on the mountains. This is terrific fish far from any ocean. We had ceviche and terrific Cuban-style red snapper and Latin-style bouillabaisse. Our hostess, Kathy, was excellent and warm and helpful. There's sand on... More

The waitress was extremely pleasant and very attentive concerning drink refills, etc. You also get a small plate of "goldfish" crackers while awaiting your entree. Appetizer salads (additional price) were brought out quickly . The blue cheese dressing had nice "chunks" in it. Had the seafood wellington, which was abundant and very tasty - lots of seafood in it for... More

I loved the outdoor seating with the sand floor and island themed music. The restaurant was adorable. We stopped in for happy hour and tried shark bites and 1 drink each. All was good, but drinks were a bit pricy even during happy hour (only 50 cents off drinks that are already $7.50-$8.50). Nice place to get a beachy frozen... More

Great food, friendly owner, with excellent dishes of the day. Everything we wanted and more. The oysters were huge and succulent.

I have to confess, I was doubtful that a landlocked mountain town could serve good seafood. I was delightfully surprised and pleased to find that I was wrong. Food was delicious - reminiscent of Italian see food restaurants in San Francisco. Delicious sauces and shrimp. Loved the friendly service. And you have to check out the Chivalrous Shark poem on...
