After a long day of traveling from Denver, we planned to find somewhere to eat dinner along the way. We arrived in Pagosa Springs after 7:00 pm, and noticed how quiet the town seemed to be. We saw the lights on at the Alley House Grille and decided to give it a try. The restaurant was crowded and the host... More

We visited Alley House Grill after reading the Trip Advisor reviews. Our last minute reservation landed us a small middle-of-the room table. Our very gracious waiter approached our table apologizing that they were out of their special so he wasn't even going to mention it. We ordered our wine from a varied and reasonably priced selection and both decided on... More

This is a pretty little restaurant and we had a very nice waitress. The salad was very good. However, we were served the worst pizza we have EVER had. Greasy, salty and burned.( I felt sick the rest of the evening. I was stupid to eat it,but we were hungry). I asked the waitress about the black, burnt crust and... More

Who would have thought we'd find a hidden gem in Pagosa Springs, CO? Call ahead & put your name on a list, as it's small & often crowded! We ordered the nightly special (rib-eye) and the scallop entree. Both were PERFECTLY prepared - not overdone as steak and scallops can be! And served very hot! Decent wine list, great service.... We went to dinner twice in Pagosa. One meal at Newberry's cost 50 with drinks and tip. This one was $150 with drinks and tip. For what we got for $150, this was really good. We weren't starved, so we just had entrees. I had the scallops with risotto. It was wonderful. The cabernet was good as well. Call after... More

Large portions and good food. My husband had the macaroni with lobster and I had the mushroom truffle pizza. Neither one of us could finish our dinner and took a "doggy" box back to where we were staying. I must say I actually enjoyed the left overs more than the meal, probably because I was more comfortable in the cabin.... More

We had the good fortune to stumble in one evening when the special was lobster mac & cheese, which was simply to die for. Our party of three got the last three plates and there would have been a donnybrook if we hadn't all been served--it was that good. Nice place, right on the highway, recommended.

Given the many high reviews, we were anxious to try this restaurant, but we came away disappointed with our entrees. My wife ate a filet which she considered to be of lesser than expected quality. I had the prime rib special that came out as two thin slices of roast over cooked and only slightly warmer than room temperature. My... More

Oh my...I completely see why we have rated this #1 in Pagosa Springs. Our dinner was nothing less than perfect and Tim, our server, was a delight and excellent sell on the cheesecake! The grilled bread is worth the $3 charge...however, with this place, the bread should be provided free upon request. :) Thanks for a wonderful dinner...our favorite yet... More

We had dinner at the Alley on Friday in the end of September. There were 2 of us on the last evening of our vacation. I knew that this restaurant is #1 in Pagosa Springs according to TripAdvisor, so that we were hoping for a very special dinner. Our reservation was for 7:30 pm, and the place was packed when... More
