During a recent visit to Denver my wife and I took a side trip to Boulder and discovered the quaint Colterra restaurant in Niwot. We were greeted by the hostess Jacque and since the weather was pleasant were seated on the patio. One of the first things we saw on arrival was a garden full of beautiful vegetables and were... It is amazing how fast you remember how important good service is when it is not there. The best food in the world doesn't taste as good and the table conversation turns away from the food, your date and the ambience, all of which were lovely for me during my visit. It wasn't bad service. But when everything else is... More

A special place for a special meal. The patio is great in good weather. The service was less than our last visit but the server was handling one entire room. The food quality is excellent, the presentation beautiful, portions small and be prepared to spent $100 for two with dessert. Unusual dinner selections made from local producers. Fresh, Fresh, Fresh.... More

When my wife said " let's meet our friends at Colterra for lunch" I said " great". We ate there before and it was very good. This time it was a different story. We ate inside and found the tables very close together. Our friends ordered the soup of the day, minestrone. Usually they would comment on the food if... More

The patio was wonderful, the meal was delicious and our server, Jonathan was great! This was our first visit to Colterra and we will definitely go back. The beet salad was yummy! The scallops and risotto were superb. It was a little pricey, but definitely worth it.

We've eaten here about four times and the food here is always wonderful. For lunch or dinner, the food and service is top notch. I love sitting on their patio. It's pretty, comfortable, and relaxing. Everything I've had here has been great. At dinner last time, we both ordered the pistachio crusted halibut with mixed vegetables. Both were the best... More

The food was fabulous and the restaurant is adorable and artsy with good vibes. We sat on the patio and it was just perfect. Lauren was our server and she was funny and informative and very efficient. An absolutely perfect lunch!!

One of the nice things about dinner for two at Colterra in Niwot is the drive to the restaurant, but that's just the beginning. For a birthday celebration last year, a friend joined me for a repast of Lobster Risotto for her and 7-hour braised Lamb Shank for me. Both the food and the company (an important element) were so... This little gem set in small-town Niwot is the perfect romantic setting for a wonderful farm-to-table fresh gourmet meal. The owner also owns Salt in Boulder and the food in each is impeccable. Their outdoor patio set among very mature cottonwood trees has got to be one of the best outdoor dining spaces in Colorado. The inside too, is quaint... More

This is the fourth time we"ve eaten here. Each time before we had local produce crafted into perfect dinners. This time both my husband and I thought our food was masked in butter or oil. I had a frittata with sun dried tomatoes and he had shrimp omelet . It was ok but for the price it should be exquisite!... More
