We were with a group of 14. They seated us in our own private room, with two tables of seven each. Close enough that we could talk across the area. Josh was our server, and he did a fantastic job. He was attentive, but not overbearing. My wife and I, ordered the Bacon and Mushroom Omelet ($13), it came on... More

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner for the 5 of us to celebrate our 15th anniversary. The restaurant has a good range of choices, both wine and food, so that most diners can find something to enjoy. Our waiter did a great job answering our questions and making recommendations. If you are in this area, I'd try Colterra.

Colterra is tucked away in Niwot, a small town located between Boulder and Longmont. The dinner menu changes seasonally, although the lunch menu tends to stay the same, featuring mainly sandwiches and salads and a few specials. I do wish they'd change things up a bit more for the lunch crowd. Dinner is definitely more innovative, featuring locally sourced, fresh... More

To celebrate my wife's birthday, we tried a French cuisine restaurant we had just heard about recently, and we were quite pleased with it. Niwot, Colorado still impresses me as a sleepy little town, only it is loaded with plenty of very sharp people, and Colterra is no exception. It used to be two homes, and now it has a... More

We ate their yesterday, Saturday December 6 ; and, today Sunday December 7th. We had to go back because it was soooo outstanding! In my opinion Chef Michael is cklearly THE TOP CHEF IN ALL BOULDER COUNTY; and probably, even in all of Colorado. It is hard to imagine eatong any better. On Saturday, My wife and I took a... More

Out dinner at Colterra was excellent. Our group are season travellers and discerning foodies and we were all very impressed by the high quality if the food and wine available at this cosy little restaurant in Niwot. The service impeccable (except I still shy from American habit of describing the menu in fine detail). The wine list was balanced with... More

I have eaten at Colterra several times and have never been disappointed. The menu is simple but creative and varies with the season. Everything is fresh and much of it is local - even some from the garden on the property. The service is very good. The patio is wonderful. I highly recommend it!

I took an old friend to brunch here last weekend and it was an outstanding experience. The outside seating wasn't available, but the inside seating was elegant, with tablecloth and fine flatware. I had an amazing goat cheese omelet and great coffee. The server was attentive without being overbearing and everyone we encountered was friendly. I would return often if... More

We were greeted at the door by a wonderful lady named Jacquie and were escorted to a cozy table in the corner where we had a delicious lunch. My friend and I had never been to Colterra before but we are already planning our next trip to Niwot and to lunch at this lovely little find!

Stumbled upon this Restaurant during the Niwot Jazz festival in August, 2014. Reasonably priced, with friendly service. Romantic atmosphere on the patio.
