Superb place for outdoor lunch on a nice day

The place was overwhelmed for graduation weekend but they did a great job in trying to keep up. The food and service were excellent given the large influx of parents for the weekend. I was hoping to escape the crowds by going further out but so was everyone else. Everybody tried hard to make the night special and this restaurant... More

I took my daughter to Colterra's for the second time. Both times, the food was fantastic and there were options for me to enjoy even with food allergies. The second time, we ate outdoors on their patio and it was just magical.

Colterra is one of the better high end restaurants in the Boulder area. Located in Niwot, it is about a 15 minute ride from downtown Boulder. The ambiance is very nice, and the waitstaff efficient & friendly. Two of us had the steak, which was excellent. My spouse had a fish dish, very good. Good wine list, good desserts. Prices... More

We had dinner after work here and the food and wine were excellent. I ordered the king salmon. The vegetables were very fresh and the salmon was just right.

We took a group of 7 to Colterra for a birthday dinner celebration for my wife. They had reserved a neat separate room with a large but cozy round table where we could all visit across from one another in a comfortable manner. The room was very nicely decorated with one entire wall made up of a glass see-through wine... More

Colterra is one of the only upscale restaurants in Niwot. Sadly, it's at best average and perhaps mediocre for the price. The two greatest challenges are the value and the wait staff. The wait staff inexplicably equates pretension with service and, thus, you're often met with a fairly aloof, sometimes unfriendly, demeanor. As to value, it's hard to accept the... More

We visited Colterra 3 years ago for our Anniversary and we were extremely impressed with the quality of food, the service and the ambience of this fine dining restaurant. Three years ago we had one of the best meals we ever ate at this restaurant; and in fact raved to others to try this place. We consider ourselves "serious foodies"... More

We had reservations, had requested a table in the front room, but watched as two younger couples who arrived after us were seated at the last available tables in the front dining room. When we inquired about this, we received a nasty response from the surly, teenage hostess. She then escorted us to the worst table in the back room.... More
