Excellent dinner and relaxing patio

Great food and super service. We really enjoyed the pacing of dinner and the meal was a lovely surprise. They have an extensive outdoor patio with lovely old trees. Not an inexpensive evening but oh so worth it!!!

What a great find. I had my cousin in town and decided to go to do some sightseeing, and stopped into Niwot for some lunch. I have not been in Niwot, so this was truly a great experience. We sat outside and had lunch. Very beautiful outside. Before we left, we walked inside to check it out. It was a... More

This is a very special place when the weather is mild, if you can sit outside under the big old trees, next to the herb garden on the patio. It is a great place for a special lunch with friends, or a special event dinner. The food quality and creativity is always excellent. I have eaten here many times a... More

Colterra is the place for those of us who love full-flavored, organic vegetables, fresh fish with skillful and nutritionally-sound preparation, a strong wine list, and a peaceful setting. Owner Bradford Heap knows what he's doing, and understands mastery-level cuisine. My waiter today was Curtis, who really understood the wine list and the food. The onion soup today was the best... It has been a long time since we have been to Colterra. Lunch today included a special of tilapia over couscous and Yellow Tail Jack with potatoes and carrots. Both meals were very, very good. Also, a white wine to add to the Yellow Tail. Food, service and ambiance were excellent. A little on the pricey side but everything was... More

I have dined at numerous restaurants throughout Colorado over the years but none I believe quite as pleasurable as the lunch I enjoyed with my wife and old friends who live in the area. There was nothing that I would fault insofar as service or food preparation and they have a great selection of wines and craft beers and ales.... More

Colterra in little Niwot is a bit off the beaten track but it may be (It's Going Out on a Limb Time!!) Colorado's best outdoor dining experience. The food at Colterra is wonderful, maybe even exquisite (We haven't had dinner there yet. Just brunch.). But the setting and ambiance is over the moon. Imagine this. You and your someone special... The town of Niwot in itself is a cute small town. Once you get to the restaurant, you can see it's in a beautiful setting. The area surrounding it is very nice. You come into the bar first which offers all kinds of choices of drinks. I liked all the different types of local beers. They also have many choices... More

We start with an excellent mixologist (see pictures). A separate menu of special drinks for all tastes from Boulder is Burning, mescal and tequila based, to Crimson Lily with Colorado vodka and Gin on and on. Our group of 5 had probably 6 - 7 of the specials and no one was disappointed. We moved on to bread and beef... More

The atmosphere was lovely. We dined outside on the patio nearby their beautiful gardens. The service was very good and the food was excellent. We had the beef carpaccio as an appetizer. For dinner I had the seasonal vegetables. Anyone who thinks vegetables are boring should try this dish. It was amazing in taste and presentation. My spouse had the... More
