A very upscale restaurant with great food

Service was excellent, food had great flavor and served at appropriate temperature. The house Pinot noir was excellent. They a reasonable variety of dishes, some purely vegetarian options and both 'small" and "large" plates.

Colterra is one of the only upscale restaurants in Niwot. Sadly, it's at best average and perhaps mediocre for the price. The two greatest challenges are the value and the wait staff. The wait staff inexplicably equates pretension with service and, thus, you're often met with a fairly aloof, sometimes unfriendly, demeanor. As to value, it's hard to accept the... More

We visited Colterra 3 years ago for our Anniversary and we were extremely impressed with the quality of food, the service and the ambience of this fine dining restaurant. Three years ago we had one of the best meals we ever ate at this restaurant; and in fact raved to others to try this place. We consider ourselves "serious foodies"... More

We had reservations, had requested a table in the front room, but watched as two younger couples who arrived after us were seated at the last available tables in the front dining room. When we inquired about this, we received a nasty response from the surly, teenage hostess. She then escorted us to the worst table in the back room.... More

Fantastic food, excellent atmosphere, and fine wines. We sat in a corner with wonderful view and enjoyed our dinner.

Went here as two couples on a Friday night. We had 4 different dishes, which everyone was raving about. I had a chicken special. It was the single best chicken dish I've ever had. Bar none. Colterra is 45 minutes from where I live and I will happily drive back there. Our waiter was Dave. Very congenial and the perfect... More

Used to love this place, but last night we had our third experience in a row with mediocre food and really slow service. The waiter was fine; it's just that it took well over an hour to get our main course. A couple dishes were quite good, but at least half missed the mark. I had a risotto that tasted... More

I took my 16 year old here to celebrate finishing his SAT test. He ordered a burger which he reported to be very tasty. I ordered a vegetable and egg scramble which was good; though nothing special. When I go to a restaurant, I like to have something I couldn't make myself and I could have made this meal quite... More

We were with a group of 14. They seated us in our own private room, with two tables of seven each. Close enough that we could talk across the area. Josh was our server, and he did a fantastic job. He was attentive, but not overbearing. My wife and I, ordered the Bacon and Mushroom Omelet ($13), it came on... More
