We have lived in Montrose for over 14 years and have gone to the Red Barn many times. I can't say that it was consistently good during that time, but okay. It is under new management as of earlier this summer and it has declined in its service and food quality dramatically. We joined a group of people last night... More

Don't buy any gift cards for the Red Barn!! I received one for Mother's Day from my kids, we went the next week and they would not honor it, saying the previous owner sold it (10 days before we went) and hasn't given the new owner the money. So my kids are out $50 and the new owner doesn't care.... More

I had a good time for eating here. The services are good. The owner is friendly to us. It is pretty clean. The food is really good and is valuable. We'll come back!

My husband and I went here on vacation. He lived here around 11 years ago and stated that the place had great food back then. We saw the reviews on here and were unsure, but decided we would judge for ourselves. The prices were horrible for the quality of food you get. We wound up just sharing and appetizer of... More

My wife and I was traveling thru on motorcycle and stopped in for breakfast. Very tasty applewood smoked thick cut bacon came with our eggs, hash browns, and toast. Sure beat the motel breakfasts we'd had the past couple days ! Enjoyed it very much.

Don't let the outside decieve you. It had great food. My husband and I split the Steak Rancheros....GREAT! We also ordered fried clam strips for the table that were very good. Because we stayed next door at The Days Inn, they gave us a free dessert (Chocolate cream pie mmmmmm). Enjoy!

5 year old ordered chicken strips. They came out half way through everyone else's meal. He ate half before I even realized they were raw. Not just a little bit, but seriously raw. Cook and owner acted like it wasn't even a big deal!!

Need I say more? Order the "Red Barn Stew", which John Wayne loved so much, it's not been changed from the original menu from the late 1960s, & is well worth it: Lean, tender sirloin roast chunks, large cut carrot pieces, potatoes & onions with a terrific sauce make up this stew that is so good, we ordered it 2... We stayed the night next door in the Days Inn - very good! Upon arrival there, the receptionist recommended us to check out the Red Barn, so we did that. We stated that we need to eat GF - the manageress explained what was available so we booked a table for an hour later so that we could freshen up... More

We make a trip through Montrose once a year and stop to eat. We have passed this place in the past when the sign stated it was voted #1 place for steak so we stopped in on July 3, 2014. The water we were served was undrinkable. I asked about bottled water - not available. Our waitress was lovely. Fried... More
