The menu consists of limited breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. We all had sandwiches for lunch. All sandwiches are made on homemade bread and the food was excellent. Proportions were more than adequate. The sandwiches are served almost as melts and served with chips on the side. I would definitely recommend lunch at the Café.

This place is located right on the corner of the "strip" in Manitou. I had the Veggie sandwich, and even though I am not a vegetarian, it is one of the best sandwiches I had. Although I didn't have a beverage, they certainly had plenty to chose from. If you visit Manitou Springs, you should definitely stop by Mate.

We were walking along Manitou Avenue and found this interesting place. We went in and found the place full. We sat at the counter and ordered the Chicken On A Ranch, The Sandwich and two cups of Red Tea. Both sandwiches were delicious and the portions were big. Service was a little slow as we waited 35 minutes for our... More

My wife and I were looking for a healthy lunch option so we decided to grab a bite at Mate 'factor after seeing that they were busy and had a great menu. We were greeted by Emmett, a very friendly laid-back fella. We grabbed a seat in a booth near the corner of the restaurant overlooking the creek. We both... More

I was wandering around manitou late at night (10pm) when I stumbled across this small cafe. The atmosphere is awesome. It feels like you walked into one of the hobbits home from lord of the rings. The actual Mate itself was really good. They have quite a big selection of organic food as well (if youre into that). Staff was... More

We were on our way to Taos after a night in Manitou, and this was the first open café we came to. We instantly felt welcome and settled in for a relaxing breakfast. The food was steamed, but was one of the best eggs I've had the pleasure to try! Great tea...and they provide honey!! Owners were nice as well... More

My wife and I recently tried Mate in Patagonia, and found that it wasn't really for us in the traditional sense. Mate'factor does a much better job of preparing their mate for the American palette. The owner went into great detail of their process and so we decided to give it another try. These were still on the exotic side,... More

Not a very diverse menu for a "healthy" restaurant. The food selection was un-imaginative which would be acceptable if there was any care or skill for food design or preparation. Staff was not especially attentive or friendly. I would recommend going to subway for a sandwich over this, and I would not really recommend subway if you were getting it... More

If you just want to eat something healthy and go about the rest of your day, try Mate. The food I believe is all organic, delicious and inexpensive. The teas are wonderful. Sit outside in the sun and watch the people go by. Open 24 hours most days!
