I had made plans to have my last dinner here, before returning to Paris, with my college student son. I made reservations for 7:45 and found that we were going to be late, about 10 minutes. I telephoned the restaurant to tell them. We arrived 20 minutes late (didn't know the time and distance from the Broadmoore) to locked doors... More

The Briarhurst Manot is among the best restaurants in Manitou Springs...for that matter, the entire Colorado Springs area. You get what you pay for. This is not an inexpensive dining experience, but I suspect you'll leave agreeing that it was worth every penny you spent.

The Briarhurst Manor is definitely synonymous with fine dining. The meals were delicious. I especially enjoyed the potato and leek soup. The service was efficient, as one might expect in a fine restaurant. Our server, however, was so formal that her interaction with us almost seemed robotic and rehearsed. This restaurant is a great choice for a special celebration or... More

We went for a romantic dinner as a family and first think we noticed was a gay couple enjoying themselves at the table. We are a conservative family did not want our children to get any ideas. We ask to get reseated and our request was met very reluctantly. The children were not welcomed here as they made too much... More

The grounds and castle set the stage for an amazing delight for you eyes and palette. We have LOVED this place since the 80s and only wish they still had the chateau briand which we always had when we would have our anniversay dinner here. It is wonderful...

We have been to the Briarhurst several times over the years, always to celebrate a special occasion because it is quite pricey. Most recently, we went for an anniversary dinner. There are several different rooms in which you can be seated, and my favorite is probably the library. The rooms are all beautiful and it's neat to eat in such... More

The Briarhurst offers a five-star dining experience that's actually affordable. While not cheap the food and service are simply outstanding. My guesstimate is that you'd easily pay $100+ more in any major metropolitan area for similar quality. The service was impeccable but not overbearing as it can sometimes be in the more expensive establishments. They were very attentive and pleasant... More

In late March 2013, I arranged a birthday dinner at Briarhurst Manor for about 20 guests. From the outset, Briarhurst Manor focused on setting up our dinner to make waiting on our party as easy as possible. Briarhurst Manor wanted to limit our dinner selection by providing our party with an abbreviated menu, because their Event Planner felt that offering... More

THE SETTING - The Briarhurst is a romantic, elegant, historical setting. It places you back in time and like being an honored guest in an elegant manor in the old west (which it was). The manor is set on spacious grounds, which includes a B&B. All of the tables on the first floor of the manor were good tables in... More

Original review 23-Feb-2013: Unfortunately what might have been a wonderful experience was overshadowed by opening your boxed dessert and finding a Boxelder bug next to it in the box. Called the restaurant several times and received no followup to this incident. I should have known this was going to be a poor experience when we were seated at a table... More
