Fresh and unexpected

If you are used to the shaved mystery meat gyros, as we were, you might be disappointed. However, we were not. All four of us got the lamb gyro. The lamb is chunks of perfectly cooked meat, slightly pink in the center. The pita bread and tatziki sauce were super fresh. We also got the hummus and... read more

Sahara cafe is a good place to eat if you want a quick meal if you order to go. The bread is not the best and the meat was dry , but the variety of ingredients were great. You can stop in and eat or get a to go, an ok place to stop.

We stopped by Sahara Cafe for dinner. It is a low key establishment and is a great value. I had the Sahara sandwich (3 meat gyro) and my husband had the Chicken Kabob. We both enjoyed our meals and neither was willing to share! The pita was fresh, soft and slightly toasted. The hummus and sauces were out of this... More

We drove into town after doing the cog railroad to Pike's Peak - it was dark and raining and we found a parking space and ran into the first restaurant we found - we were absolutely blown away by everything, all home made and tasting delicious and excellent prices!! Homemade hummus, pita bread, kabobs and don't skip the dessert case!... More

After returning to cog rail station after last trip of day to Pikes Peak we were hungry and tired. I steered family to Sahara Cafe--one of few restaurants still open at 8:30 p.m. It is a small place, but we were very pleased w vegetable plate and lamb kabobs. Children's menu is available but ours nibbled, then enjoyed large ice... More

We really enjoyed the food here! I'm a vegetarian and found plenty to enjoy. It's a cute little place but nothing fancy at all. We recommend this for lunch or dinner.

Small, casual restaurant. Excellent for family or couple. The gyros are delicious with an assortment of flavors. Modest portions (I hate gigantic plates of food) at modest prices. The falafel is perfect--best I have had in a long time. Sampler platter is highly recommended. Good sage tea.

We really enjoyed the Sahara Sandwich. The sandwich had a lot of flavor, took half home and was just as good the next day. The sage tea was great as well.....

Here in Colorado with the band and it's great to find inexpensive but really good food when on the road. Great place to stumble upon, Jessica was very nice.

We were walking down the strip on Sunday and happened upon this gem. The smells drew us inside, and we were pleasantly surprised to find an authentic Greek restaurant with reasonable prices. We sat down and within 5 minutes our order was taken. Barely 5 minutes later we had our food, and it was DELICIOUS!! I had the chicken plate,... More
