Coming from the 'big city' we weren't use what to expect in this tiny town, but boy did we stumble across a treasure! It was so crowded when we walked in the door early Sunday morning, we could barely make it inside - a sure fire sign we were in the right place. Smiling waitresses and customers a like, everyone... We stopped in Mancos for a delicious breakfast at the Absolute Bakery and Café. I ordered "the Stack" which was hashbrowns topped with two eggs (any way) topped with bacon and green chilis. Served with homemade bread and jelly too. The atmosphere is quaint and charming; but the food was great. Well worth the stop and taking cookies from the... More

A lot of my friends told me about this cafe, but I never got around to trying it until today. It was busy when I walked in, really busy, but I got seated right away and a nice lady took my order and gave me a coffee mug. Oh man, best coffee around, I had three cups and I usually... More

Went in on Tuesday afternoon "Day off, celebrating my Hubby's BDay" and the hostess was on the verge of rude "could use etiquette, charm schooling" We asked if breakfast was still available and she said no, jokingly we answered why not? And her response was that Denny's is open. After calming down my Husband from wanting to leave, only cause... More

I'm a high altitude baker and do enjoy visiting this bakery. We picked up half dozen goodies: the best pump kin bars with creamcheese icing were a big hit! So were the date oatmeal bar and lemon blueberry bar. Same for blueberry muffin. Everything we chose satisfied..

This is little bakery and cafe is quaint and small with some outdoor seating. But you will really love the healthy and fresh foods. The baked goods are killer and be sure to leave room for some of the many desert baked goods they offer. We drove all the way over from Bayfield Colorado where we stayed in RV park... More

We stopped for lunch as we drove through to Mesa Verde. I had the ham and black eyed soup and the spinach mushroom quiche .Excellent. We stocked up on bread as well. Worth the detour off the highway.

Good coffee, friendly service, enormous portions of very well prepared food (except for the black beans which were entirely average at best), in a homey atmosphere. The food service was a bit on the slow side but certainly not annoyingly so and worth the wait. Just remember not to be in a rush. And, on warmer days, there are a... More

Ready for a snack we turned off the main highway heading to Durango and a quick look at the Rough Guide found us at the Absolute Bakery and Cafe. After a few weeks of mediocre coffee and bakery products on a tour of Arizona / Utah and Colorado this place was heaven. Great food and ambience and well worth turning... More
