Took our daughter to the Steer for her birthday and the evening was all we expected and more. The steaks are delightful (just don't order too well done) and the shrimp dinner is just as good. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was quiet enough to visit without shouting at each other above loud music and echoing acoustics. I... More

I live in Greeley and have tried to get a good steak there to no avail. I have slowly started trying Loveland. I stopped ordering steaks for about a year. Then my daughter and I had business in Loveland and she checked Trip Advisor for a good steak house and we headed to the Black Steer. It is smaller with... More

I ordered rare steak and it came refrigerator cold in the center. I was told that was what rare was and she was sorry she couldn't please me. Salads came with rice chex odd. If you like overpaying for cafeteria food awesome but I will never return.

Appetizers are good for the price. It is the entrees I go there for. Plus the atomsphere and service. Drinks are well priced. The servicers are some of the best I have had. I know being a regular helps but I see the same type of service for everyone. Highly recommended if you are a meat and potatoes fan.

We hardly ever go out on the weekend. Guests in town wanted a steak so we went to the Steer. They were busy, but our service was prompt, correct and excellent. The steaks (filet, rib eye, strip,) were done as ordered, served hot, and the sides perfect. A wonderful experience.

The food was rotten!!! They wouldn't take the steak off the bill, but admitted that it was old and spoiled! My daughters chicken tenders were spoiled, and under cooked. My T-Bone steak was paper thin. The price wasn't. I can't believe the place is in business! The food made every one in my family sick to there stomach! Worst food... More

It would be nice if the Black Steer had bigger tables but instead they cram several small tables into an area to get more people "in" to eat. We had four at our small table two times now and the tables are just waaay too small and crowded. The steaks are really good, as are the salads and app's. If... More

Everything is excellent and all of the staff are very friendly and attentive. The cooks make everything just as you asked.

Used to be a great place to eat but I think in the last 10 years it has declined. Food seems to be about bar food level at this point - Too bad - This place used to be a landmark

A perenial favorite for locals. Good food at reasonable prices - not as fancy as some other places but nice. Unusual salad served with chex on top.
