Nice place near old town Louisville

A nice, small, quiet little restaurant on the edge of old town. Good service, tasty food at a reasonable price. Too cold for the patio now, but it looked like a nice area.

My family, friends and I seem to always have a good time when we dine at Casa Alegre. The patio is open in summer and while weather is warm. Nice atmosphere, although the restaurant gets busy and one might have a wait. The staff are friendly and service has always been good. I like tis restaurant.

I'm not sure why, but I didn't expect much out of Casa Alegre. Maybe it's because there are so many good restaurants that I hear folks talk about I took the absence of chatter as acknowledgment that it wasn't good. But we just enjoyed a nice dinner there. My wife and I enjoyed the sangria with our meals. I had... More

What's not to like about good food, great weather, tasty margaritas, live music, and a super patio? Casa Alegre is a favorite.

Best local mexican food around. Definitely authentic. Great patio hidden out back. It's a bit of a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of main street.

Good Mexican food. Not only has this resturant been here for quite awhile, the building itself has been here even longer, it's one of Louisville's Historic Buildings, it may even have originally been a bar, I'm not sure of that , ask Bridget at the museum. The front part of the restaurant would qualify as a sport's bar with a... More

Homemade margaritas made with real limes instead of high fructose corn syrup, great chips and salsa, great food....enchiladas and juevos rancheros were excedllent. People that rate this place less than a five don't understand good food and good drinks!

The menu includes some items that one does not get elsewhere. There is much more than the standard combo plates and simple fare. Try the Burrito Loco Azado (Crazy Donkey) which has a delicious sauce. The Casa Alegre Burrito and Enchilada are also delicious and quite filling. They have vegetarian dishes, seafood dishes, and yes - most all of the... More

Great place to enjoy lunch with coworkers. We have had multiple gatherings with 10 or more people and the food has always come out in a timely manner and they kept the glasses filled and chip baskets stocked.
