The Real Deal

We have been going to Lucilles for many years. It is in a quaint house and smells of delicious creole food. Everything is delicious and the staff, friendly. You can buy their spicey ketchup, preserved, and other items to take home. We never miss a chance to go there.

You can't beat this place for a novel breakfast - great New Orleans style cooking. My typical breakfast is the Eggs New Orleans. Poached Eggs with Eggplant, hollandaise and creole sauce. It is great! Go early as there is usually a wait, especially on weekends.

I do not understand the reviews this place gets. The food was of mediocre (the potatoes were burned, the eggs kind of rubbery, and the biscuits flavorless and doughy, no fluff to them at all) but that's not where the place falls down. The service is deplorable. They don't take reservations, there's a line out the door, and when you... More

You have to love a spot that EVERYONE loves. Add the fact that they offer morning cocktails in the reception area. And Cajun Bloody Mary's are quite good. But don't dismiss the Cuban orange juice either. A quaint old house, with creaks and antiques, the attentive wait staff deliver an exceptional meal. I must also suggest the jalapeño grits -... More

I have gone to Lucille's many times (it's in my neighborhood) and it's always been awesome. There is usually a wait, especially on weekends. Sometimes they offer table sharing to help reduce the wait. All the benedicts are fabulous. This place is HARD on your diet, but worth the splurge!

We go to Lucille's often and the food and service there are always outstanding. Their spiced ice tea is wonderful if you like cinnamon and lots of natural flavors. Their Cajun Breakfast is one of the best I have ever had. I can't wait to go there again.

A mainstay for years whose quality hasn't suffered like so many other restaurants do. Best breakfast in town but always crowded for good reason. Weekdays less hectic. Don't over order cause portions are big. Hanks eggs, not on menu anymore is my fave...they'll do it if you ask. Best bisquits and jam in town.

Went to Lucile's on a Saturday morning for breakfast, probably about 10 am.It was busy, but not so busy that we had to wait. There were some interesting things on the menu--stuff you don't usually get that far north. Like Grits, or Pain Perdu (dead bread). The grits were runny-thin, the pain perdu was really only french toast on sourdough... More

Lucille's are known for their Begnets. They are delicious! They also have standard fare breakfasts that go with the Begnets. Must try this unique breakfast.
