The Damascus Grill: A little dive with great Syrian food

One of the joys of living in a large metropolitan area is that you have access to different ethnic restaurants. The Damascus Grill is such an example: wholesome food based on the owner's mom's traditional recipes. Great humus, tabbouleh, baba ganoush, and skewered grilled mushrooms. Try the... read more

Came here with agroup of ladies from church after loojing at gardens. Wonderful food. All prepared fresh. One meal is enough for two. Even the appetizer portions were large. The grilled mushrooms some of the best I've ever had. Hummus extremely smooth. Turkish coffee my daughter had and said it was great. Baklava also best we have tasted. Reasonable prices.

The food is superb and prices reasonable. There is a pleasing atmosphere as well. I only wish they served wine and/or beer with meals.

Good portions, helpful waiter, great food and a reasonable price. What more can you ask for? We will go back.

The food was amazing. We had the baba ganoush and the meat plate. It was delicious. The mint tea was "traditional" meaning not made with mint oil as you may be used to and had a very earthy flavor. That's the only thing I'd pass on if I went again.

My husband loves Mediterranean food. We decided to try it tonight. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was wonderful and the service was great. We had the grilled mushrooms that were very good and just the right amount of spice. The meat combo was good but enough for 2.. Next time I will take the servers suggestion and have the... More

My wife is Lebanese so we look for good middle eastern restaurants. The flavors were authentic, the humus the right balance of garlic, tahini whipped to perfection. There is a new menu there in the last year, so prices have been raised, but still reasonable. We picked up dinner for four adults for about forty dollars and we had left... More

We visited as a family to celebrate a birthday and were not disappointed. We had hummus and baba ganoush and both were good. We tried the vegetarian entree and the gyros meat entree and both were delicious. The place is small but the service was nicely managed by one waiter that evening.

My family and I went there on a New Years Eve because every other restaurant in town was packed. It was only us, and one other table of four in there. Althought the atmosphere wasn't that impressive, the service was great, and the food was very good. People are saying the humus is great, and they're right - it's very... More

Yes, the restaurant is a repurposed gas station. Carryout orders outnumbered sit down guests 2:1 on a Thursday evening. I love Middle Eastern food. We ordered the Vegetarian Sampler #1 (hommos, falafel, fatouch salad, baba ghanouj, fava beans, grape leaf, and [too much] mixed white and saffron rice) as an appetizer, which almost filled 3 adults, then entrees for each...
