Description: Kobe An is a family owned and operated business. We were established in 1979 by Kimie Loeffler. She was inspired to open a Japanese restaurant here in Colorado because she missed the food of her home town Kobe Japan. The restaurant is now being run by her daughter Michelle and son in law Marco. Marco has a true passion for the Japanese culture. He learned the very basics of sushi working at the restaurant and then furthered his training at the Sushi Chef Institute in Los Angeles California. We pride ourselves on serving the freshest fish and a variety of authentic Japanese cuisine. We have private tatami rooms that can accommodate small parties up to 4 people, and also a large tatami room that can accommodate up to 24 people. We are not trendy, we have more of a traditional Japanese decor. If you are looking for a Japanese restaurant that has character and the feel of Japan, look no further. Hope to see you soon

Lone dinner out, sat in the bar. (I hear you can sit "on the ground" Japanese style in the dining room.) California rolls were COLD and FRESH. Usually when I order sushi elsewhere, it's room temp by the time it gets to my table. These were fantastic! I can't wait to try other sushi here. The miso soup was probably... More

Don't get me wrong, this is good Japanese food and in the short-term office and strip-mall wasteland that is this area it's the best Japanese you'll get. I do think it's a little overpriced for what it is and the sushi chefs have been slow all three times I've been here. Fine for a business lunch or a quickie if... More

We enjoy eating at the Kobe-An, and have been going there for many years. It is off Union, south of 6th Avenue in Lakewood, just west of Denver before you get to the foothills -- that's why we like it, because we live farther out in Evergreen, Colorado and don't have to go all the way into downtown Denver for... I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem in a shopping center across the parking lot from the Hampton Inn. I had the teriyaki chicken which was delicious and came with miso soup and nice. The portion was reasonable and so was the price. I don't do sushi, but my dining companions do and they enjoyed their orders of sushi.... More

Excellent large selection of sushi and authentic Japanese cooked dishes. I had sushi and noodle soup. Both very good.

I have been here for lunch quite a few times and have never been disappointed. The green tea is a little different than most Asian restaurants, it is rice based, so its flavor will startle you at first. The Bento boxes are a favorite as you can pick from several different ones. The food has never disappointed me here as... More

The sushi here is fresh and they have good saki, but the sushi rolls were not rolled very well as they fell apart quite easily. They have a variety of special rolls that are pretty standard on American sushi restaurants these days, but the prices are high for what you get. Also had the yakisoba noodles and was not impressed.... More

Very good sushi, probably the best in Lakewood in my opinion. A bit pricey for my taste, but as with most things you get what you pay for, and this place doesn't upset. Their servers recently got updated uniforms which I thought was a much needed "modernizing" touch. They also went from traditional Japanese music to some more modern stuff,... More

Kobe An is my favorite sushi bar. They have the best sushi and Asian food in the area. The prices are great too, my husband and I always have a great experience that doesn't break our bank. I go there as often as I can. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! What a great place!!!!
