Very good

The pork was excellent, the beans and rice tasty. If the Cuban sandwich had been a bit more inspired, we would have called it "excellent." Nice but rather dull off the shelf - consider extra pickle and mustard. That's what we'll do next time, and there will definitely be a next time!

This small gem off Alameda Avenue in Lakewood serves authentic Cuban cuisine. The specialities are sandwiches on home made Cuban bread. "The Cuban" has pulled pork, ham, cheese and mustard on toasted bread. It is flavorful rather than overly spiced and hot. The combination includes delicious sweet plantains. There is also a small selection of wonderful pastries: macaroons are a... More

visiting the area we wanted to try something different for lunch, not a chain place....so went with local reviews to try Frijoles. There located in a strip mall anchored with a major grocery store. But not in the primary strip, but at the toward the main thoroughfare. We showed up on a Saturday at lunchtime. We were Immediately greeted with... More

Once again tripadvisor.com comes through. I found this place on a restaurant search and the reviewers were all pretty positive, so off I went. This review is mostly repeating what everyone else has already said. Here you will find a true “sabor de Cuba/taste of Cuba” and a warm spot in Colorado. This restaurant is smaller in size but very... More

My husband and I accidentally stumbled upon this place after searching for a local spot for Cuban for YEARS. This is the real deal. My husband is from Florida and we spend a lot of time there so we have plenty of experience with GOOD Cuban. The sandwich Cubano here is better than any I have had even in Miami,... More

It has been a task finding good, authentic Cuban food in the Denver area. After seeing reviews about Frijoles Colorado last year, I made the 40+ minute trek from the south Metro to Lakewood in a reluctant attempt to try this place. Man, was I glad I did! I have gone back every chance I get for a little taste/reminder... More

It's been awhile since we've been able to make it by Frijoles Colorado. Forgot how much we REALLY enjoy this place. The food is fantastic; and more so the owners are perfect hosts and make you feel right at home. Do yourself a favor and make it by Frijoles Colorado for a meal. Even though we don't live in the... I am from Fl and love this little Cuban gem. Daily specials and a regular menu filled with delicious food. Do not miss the guava puff pastry. This family owned restaurant is definitely one to support.
