My husband and I accidentally stumbled upon this place after searching for a local spot for Cuban for YEARS. This is the real deal. My husband is from Florida and we spend a lot of time there so we have plenty of experience with GOOD Cuban. The sandwich Cubano here is better than any I have had even in Miami,... More

It has been a task finding good, authentic Cuban food in the Denver area. After seeing reviews about Frijoles Colorado last year, I made the 40+ minute trek from the south Metro to Lakewood in a reluctant attempt to try this place. Man, was I glad I did! I have gone back every chance I get for a little taste/reminder... More

My 1st visit a few month back was Very Good. My 2nd visit was not as good.Went on a Friday night expecting it to be busy. Tables were wide open. Met some friends there. order a few Materva. (all out) order pastel de gava (all out). Not a good start. The cuban sandwich was good, The special Shrimp Creole serve... More

It's been awhile since we've been able to make it by Frijoles Colorado. Forgot how much we REALLY enjoy this place. The food is fantastic; and more so the owners are perfect hosts and make you feel right at home. Do yourself a favor and make it by Frijoles Colorado for a meal. Even though we don't live in the... I am from Fl and love this little Cuban gem. Daily specials and a regular menu filled with delicious food. Do not miss the guava puff pastry. This family owned restaurant is definitely one to support.

I am not normally a pork eater, but the Lechon is what keeps me coming back. I also love the yucca with black beans and rice. The chicken has caramelized onions and the option of shoestring potatoes. The location is tucked away and harder to find now that the Starbucks next door is gone. I don't even mind that there's no... Located in the corner of a mall, this is one of those places you'd pass by in a heartbeat and that would be a big loss. Inside it looks like another fast-food place until you taste this food. The lechon (marinated pork) is wonderful, the game hens are too. Even the arroz moros (rice and black beans) are delicious. They... More

Went for lunch, came back for dinner! Simple hardy Cuban food. Been back a few times since. You don't go for the ambiance, or the wine/beer list. You go to eat. A small but cozy place, that is the real deal. I don't care for yucca by itself, but when combined with your protein & rice/beans it is wonderful! And... More

You wouldn't expect much from this place given the location, but don't let that fool you. It's a family operation and everything I tried was delicious. I had the special which was a chicken paella, tried the rice and black beans of a friend, the buttered flat bread, and a flaky pastry with a fruit filling. Everything was delicious and... More
