Authentic! Delicious! Genuine!

Superb family who puts love and attention into all of their dishes. The food was fresh, authentic and incredibly flavorful. So lucky to have this place in our neighborhood.

Muy bueno! We dined at Frijoles with friends who have recently been to Cuba, and they gave this place a thumbs up! Frijoles is a small family cafe with 6-18 tables. Food is prepared old school, family style. Price is great on the wallet, quality of each dish is excellent. Most of the menu are sandwiches, but there are entrees... More

My God the steak and onions are to die for! I was disappointed I had to leave and couldn't stay to chat more with the restaurant owners. Great people and the best example of true Cuban food you will get in the west. Yummy!

We wanted to try something different and since we're from Hawaii and don't have to many Cuban restaurants but we do have a lot of Puerto Ricans who do home cooked meals, we decided to try this one. I had the grilled chicken paella and it was excellent, this was the best paella that I've ever tried. The service here... More

I don't have any experience with Cuban food until now, and everything served here was absolutely delicious. I tried a 'house special' consisting of their signature pork, and was delighted to see that it was lean and appetizing on the plate. It was very tender and had a delicious spice unlike anything I have tried before. We enjoyed it with... More

The pork was excellent, the beans and rice tasty. If the Cuban sandwich had been a bit more inspired, we would have called it "excellent." Nice but rather dull off the shelf - consider extra pickle and mustard. That's what we'll do next time, and there will definitely be a next time!

This small gem off Alameda Avenue in Lakewood serves authentic Cuban cuisine. The specialities are sandwiches on home made Cuban bread. "The Cuban" has pulled pork, ham, cheese and mustard on toasted bread. It is flavorful rather than overly spiced and hot. The combination includes delicious sweet plantains. There is also a small selection of wonderful pastries: macaroons are a... More

visiting the area we wanted to try something different for lunch, not a chain place....so went with local reviews to try Frijoles. There located in a strip mall anchored with a major grocery store. But not in the primary strip, but at the toward the main thoroughfare. We showed up on a Saturday at lunchtime. We were Immediately greeted with... More

Once again tripadvisor.com comes through. I found this place on a restaurant search and the reviewers were all pretty positive, so off I went. This review is mostly repeating what everyone else has already said. Here you will find a true “sabor de Cuba/taste of Cuba” and a warm spot in Colorado. This restaurant is smaller in size but very... More
