Great facility and view, average food poor service

Reach ythis restaurant via two gondolas which provide beautiful views and a great ride to and from. At $60 pp for cheese fondue you would think that a never ending list of a la carte extras would be included. Only two cheese to melt small portions of protein and only chicken or pork included... read more

We go to Der Fondue Chessel often and it is always great! The gondola rides, fondue/raclette, music and chicken dance are great fun especially when you go with a group of friends and/or family! It is expensive but the price covers the gondolas and a multi-course meal that will leave you completely stuffed. In the summer, the views from the... More

Our family planned our dinner here as the finale to a great Colorado vacation and to celebrate our daughter's 25th birthday. We were full of anticipation as we took the scenic gondola ride. From the moment we walked in, I knew we were in trouble. We waited in the nearly empty dining hall for anyone to acknowledge our presence. When... More

Reservations required for this once in a lifetime experience. This will get you on the gondola for free. Prepare your own food at your table, apps, entrees and dessert. Enjoy the chicken dance with all the other dinners. One price for adults and one for kids.

The fun of getting to the restaurant is having to take the two gondola rides up to it. Once you get there, while the fondue and selection of meats is very good, it is quite pricey. The room is very large and very noisy, and with all of the fondue cooking going on, it's a bit smokey despite best efforts.... More

A unique traditional Fondue dinner at the top of the mountain! The two gondola rides back to Der Fondue Chessel were beautiful rides. Dinner was a fun experience (cheese, chocolate, grilling, etc), music and singing was entertaining. I would suggest this to anyone going to Keystone.

Enjoyed the lift ride (two of them to get up and two to get back) Was a little scary when it stopped on the back side but we got a great view of the stars. Dinner was good and fun. Singers were fun - even sang Bon jovi :) It is not cheap - but if you have some time,... More

Table-side grilling fun but not for everyone? Kids and families love it. A bit noisy but definitely an experience.

The top of Keystone Der Fondue is a must do. The experience of taking to Gondolas up to 11,444ft alone is worth it. Gorgeous views. The offer of the blankets is a nice touch too. Others have covered the food which is standard Swiss raclette style - hard to get that wrong. The strolling musicians also make it fun. Chocolate... More

Recently dined at Der Fondue Chessel in Keystone, Colorado. I'll say this: The overall experience was pretty good. You take two beautiful gondola rides to a nice, quaint, "log cabin-type" restaurant tucked away in the gorgeous snow-laden hills. It's truly beautiful! Once there, I thought the fondue itself was average. Strangely, you actually grill your meats yourself instead of putting... More
