Worth every penny!

After a long day of skiing this was the ultimate dinner destination. The greeting at the door was welcoming and homey. The slippers were warmed and the hostess takes all your ski gear. On February 8th 2012 three skiing buddies decided to go all out and have dinner at the top of Keystone Mountain at the Apenglow Stube. The adventure began after we checked in at the base of the gondola in Keystone's River Run area. They provide each of us with a blanket and a ski pass to get on the gondola.... More

Visited the 'Stube' on 2/8/12. Our first visit was a year ago, and it pretty much blew us away. This year, we came back with friends..... and were blown away again! This is a true experience. You start by checking in at the base of Keystone mountain where they give you blankets to keep warm on the spectacular gondola ride.... More

This is still the best value for lunch on the mountain when you are skiing. It is maybe $10 more than the hamburger and fries you find on the mountain, but well worth it (atmosphere, food, slippers, etc.). I did like it better when they had the antipasto bar, but it is still great. I have never been there for... More

One part of me loves the Alpenglow Stube and the other part hates it. Here’s why. Hate - The gondola trip to get to the restaurant was terrible. You ride 2 godolas to get there and it was fricken freezing. We had on our long underwear from skiing that day, but we still froze. Plus it was pitch black, you... More

When your dining experience starts with the host taking your ski boots and offering slippers, you know you are in for a special treat! The Chef's table is a special experience as well. We went twice last week and Chef David provided a pre-appetizer of off-the-menu scallops. What a nice touch. I won't ski Keystone without that great lunch again.

I'm an annual regular at the Alpenglow Stube. I make an effort to get lunch there at least once when skiing Keystone. But don't think you need to be a skier to make the trip. The food, service, and ambiance are well worth the two-gondola trip. This review is overdue but given my experience there, it's time to get the... More

Three from our family splurged for lunch here during a ski day - we were able to walk in and be seated within 15 minutes the day after Christmas. Such a treat to check our jackets, helmets and boots and get comfy slippers in return! We were seated in a booth where we settled in for one of the best... More

This was our third time at the stub. We really enjoyed it in the past and we were looking forward to the same type experience. This was not the case. After waiting thirty minutes in bar we were seated at our table. The next thirty minutes we received water that's it. Then we received first course of cavier and one... More

We had a very wonderful lunch at the Alpenglow Stube. Simply wonderful! I loved the slippers and the option of a light lunch. The gondola ride over was a huge bonus! Knowledgeable about their extensive wine list. The manager came by our table at least 3 times to make sure we were happy and we were!
